Who is your favorite videogame villain?

This is mine:

Albedo has it all: he's immortal.

Sadly he's also a twin. His descent into madness was realizing his twin would no longer be with him. He is timeless, and will never die, while his brothers (And sister) will. He will be alone. He and his kin are artificial humans known as Realians.

By seeking death, he becomes death.

He hates that he will one day be alone forever. Satan finds a willing cohort in him.

In the end he betrays evil, and while he can never be called "good" he is certainly a hero.

Kotomine Kirei.

kirei530.png

A superhuman-like assassin priest who can punch people to death with martial arts and exorcise evil spirits. He likes to fuck with people's morals and love to see people suffer just because. He even brings up some interesting morals about good and evil. Seriously, he was just born that way. No one's as fucked up as him from where he comes from (I think) because he wants to let a "doomsday device", in a form of some evil God, to come forth into the world. REJOICE!

Araya Souren. A Buddhist monk that has been living for 500 years and is trying to find the "Root" of all existence to answer his question about the meaning of human life. Something like that. And he'll do anything to get to it. Especially turning an apartment complex full of people into zombie-like creatures or even implant his brain into a young girl's body (who has a connection to the "Root"). This and he can survive against Ryougi Shiki's attacks (who can basically cut anything) for a few times (which is quite the achievement) and has some pretty interesting magic.

Nrvnsqr Chaos. Or Fabro Rowan. An alchemist who specialized in biological alchemy (or something like that) and was turned into a vampire. He's basically Alucard's cousin, instead with just animals. This guy is oozing of badass and maybe some contradictions. I just like the basis of his ability of how it's trying to replicate how organisms in the world evolved throughout time... In his body. Oh yeah, did I mention he has to be killed 666 times before dying?

That's the number of organisms in his body and they all act as a hive mind. Sorta. He's got some super form or something like that.

Oh god, yes. Wallace Breen was the ultimate in evil. I would add the Combine in general though; a mindless war machine that metastisizes across the universe, doing nothing but expanding itself at the expense of others like a cancer.

When I beat "Street Fighter II: Turbo" with him when I was a kid, I legitimately felt bad that I helped him conquer the world.

Same for when I beat Guile with him, since I stopped Guile from getting revenge for Charlie. (that was before Charlie's death was retconned?)

I wouldn't say Godot is really a villain in Pheonix Wright, he's significantly more Anti-Hero-ish

"Someone carrying a large bag is casually leaning against one of the walls here. He does not speak, but it is clear from his aspect that the bag will be taken only over his dead body.
Your sword has begun to glow very brightly."

You can't kill him. You can only put him to sleep for a century or so.

Oh, and then there's this asshat:

This asshole

Bumby.png

Bumby (Alice Madness Returns) is a child-therapist in Victoria-era London. What makes him special is that, rather than take over the world like most other villains, he wipes the minds of children and sells them as prostitutes. What makes him stick out in my mind so much is the game constantly hinting at Bumby's plans, even in the beginning of the game when he's an ally. The symbolism and foreshadowing was incredible.

ArkhamCityRenderRiddler.jpg

The Riddler (Batman: Arkham) mostly because of how fun his sidequests were. Throughout both games he leaves behind riddles and puzzles for Batman to solve. I'm a huge riddle nut so for me, this was like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Joseph_Bertrand.jpg

Joseph Bertrand the 3rd (Infamous 2) is the mayor of the city of New Marais. Throughout the game he persuades the citizens that the super-powered humans known as conduits, are demons and must be destroyed. He is also responsible for creating the ice missionary conduits seen causing chaos. Later in the game you find that Bertrand himself is a conduit and sucks the energy out of other conduits. At first you think "wow, throwing his entire kind under the bus, what a douche".

In the end however, you realize that Bertrand wasn't truely evil. After gaining his power to turn into an uncontrollabe beast, Bertrand believed that conduits are too powerful and should be feared. He created the ice conduits in a plan to sell them to warlords, thereby starting an armsrace to build the most powerful conduits. In result, conduits would have been persecuted and killed. His purpose was good, but his plan was inhumane.
