Hopefully someone makes it into a proper VN so it doesn't die with the servers. The devs will probably just make a new game with the IP to get more new players and whales.

Agreed with this considering this game prints them money, lets them use that money to fund various other Type Moon projects even if they weren't very good. Not to mention in terms of story, there's still lots of Type Moon shit that FGO can run into. Like the other Dead Apostles, the other Types, Bullshit from the Clock Tower. More lostbelts and alternate timelines. Chaldea at this point is basically one giant-ass Tardis.

Chances are people are gonna go the Battle Moon Wars route and just adapt characters and servants from FGO into whatever story they want to do.

That said, its a risky gamble because not everyone is going to immigrate and if the new IP takes it up the ass in terms of gameplay and story, its never gonna recover that initial fanbase. As seen with Payday 2 and Payday 3. 3 was a far inferior game than 2. Or Overwatch in general.

Yep, more or less agree with this as well. Plus it looks like there WAS a mistranslation after all, and the story won't end THAT soon...

I really wish they'd do like Blue Archive and just lock servant choice and levels for the series story so normal players can play without the risk of being locked due to bad draws.

Purely because it's Type Moon it would have a lot of buzz, but making a sequel would probably work well as long as the devs don't fuck up too badly with cheapening out or catering to whales.
 
Even if they announced EoS tomorrow, their probably gonna drag it out for at least a year or two.
FGO always likes to announce a whole batch of stories/servants that won't be released for years to try and keep you invested, It took about a year and a half for all the servants in the very first trailer to be added and to wrap up part 1, Epic of Remanent was a full year of filler, Lostbelt took 3 years for all the advertised servants to be playable and 7 years to finish the final one. And OC took about 2 years to wrap up. The way I see it
If the next thing is the "final", expect a years worth of content to wrap it up, and maybe another year or two of just events or colabs.
If we get a part 3, expect them to drag out the story for another 10 years.
