So, basically the villains are Jace and the Gang as Christian Dominionists. Cool.Boxart's been revealed. Looks like we might be able to fly planes this time.

So who makes up the resistance faction? Antifa tumblr fiction-kin?
Much more interesting idea: Far Cry set in Florida. No plot/factions, just trying to survive Florida.
But then every enemy would be a methead in their underwear shrieking while charging at you and brandishing a baby alligator.
It's more original than just facing off against redneck cultist. Plus baby alligators as weapons would be rather good. You say this like its a bad thing.
Much as Far Cry 5 may have a Christian cult, they're (according to some sources) like the Branch Davidians or Jonestown. They're also some sort of reference to Scientology Still, the salty tears are welcome.
It's funny if people do fall for this bait. Also funny if people like this guy thinks it makes mass triggering and not some sort of internet autism from either side. That said if they do have them as gamers, it'd be closer to Deagle Nation than one could think.
(If this is set in present day).
Montana must be more 3rd world and destabilized then I remember.

I fully expect it to be 'vanilla' and not do any twisted shit. Besides, the villains for these games are just excuses to go blowing shit up and shooting people.
The 'off-brand' Far Cry games (Blood Dragon, Primal) have consistently been more creative with their settings than the main series. I'm already more interested in where they go with that this time around than 5.
Scientology or evangelical nutjobs either way it's gonna bring some salt. I fully expect Paul Joseph Watson or another vlogger to sperg on about how this game is "evil" SJW snowflake propaganda. It's more original than just facing off against redneck cultist. Plus baby alligators as weapons would be rather good.
