How many of you know that faggy band Black Veil Brides that have an army of stupid sixteen year old girls that worship them? What if I told you that a 30+ year old woman child that reminded me too much of our dear womb wizard made a fanfic about them and a friend of mine had the misfortune of being harassed by her because said friend just said that she didn't find them all that good and would take everything you say at face value instead of asking why.

I am at a loss for words....
 
Anyone remember the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books? No? Well, someone tried to make their own fanfiction based on the books and it's amazingly terrible.

Off-topicish and nit picky:

Is it just me or does anyone else get bothered when fanfiction authors/internet authors in general use big words wrong? Like using prodigal in the wrong way or exquisite? It's like they're trying to be eloquent but failing horribly because those that are actually eloquent don't always resort to flowery language or big words when the situation doesn't call for it. Even if two different words are synonyms they carry different implications and if used wrong can make you sound like you just vomited a thesaurus. I mean, how hard is it to look up the definition of a fucking word on dictionary.com? It costs you at most three seconds but'll save you from looking like a pretentious and stupid douche bag.

This is a problem across the entire literary world, professional and amateur alike, to the point the term "purple prose" is synonymous with literature in general. Thing is, it comes off as tacky these days because back in the day, you being a writer meant you were (perhaps) of high class and therefore well-educated, but in the modern era, anyone--well-learned or not--can write something and get it published somewhere where it can be seen. But the usage of vocabulary is still so deeply ingrained in literature and our critical eye that some people feel they need to use big words to sound more eloquent than they really are. And I think the biggest issue is they use the first column of words on thesaurus.com instead of scrolling though multiple pages and clicking on other words just to make sure you're using it properly.

Also I don't know how English classes do it these days, but at least every time my classes did our weekly vocabulary, we had assignments where we had to use them in sentences fitting to the definition and that included our tests. It kinda forced us to get a bit creative with our sentence structures, but most kids typically went with the bare-minimum definition.
 
Speaking of the Alpha/Beta/Omega shit, there is a surprising amount of straight ABO stuff for certain ships like Reylo. Not even "the man got mpregged by a woman lol", usually the man's the alpha and the woman's the omega. Unlike fujos I don't know what they get out of it. Maybe it's just because white girls fuck dogs.
