That RDR jacket is nice. It and the RE4 one are the proper way to do merch because they’re subtle and don’t scream ‘game merch’ if you have no idea where they’re from. I wish more games would choose that route, it’s nice to force diehard game nerds to actually care about their appearance.

That gold is so tacky and cheap looking. It looks like some shitty halloween costumes I've seen returned at work.

I've seen a halloween costume store ad special for some childrens-only costume that was apparently a vault jumpsuit, or some sort of blatant ripoff, it looked ten times better than this pos.

One of my favorite shirts has the Cyberdyne logo on it. Nothing about the Terminator franchise, or Universal Studios.

Every few years, someone at work recognizes it.

I mean, I could understand if they wanted to make real fucking vault suits why not put some goddamn effort into it? I've seen people make their own Vault Suit cosplays that were better than the ones Bethesda has been shitting out.

You can say this about nearly anything Bethesda has done. People also make better mods, expansions, and patches to Bethesda games than Bethesda does.

At this point I assume upper management are purposefully trying to tank the company's worth so they can pillage whats left and then sell.

Yeah there's no way that's real leather. It looks like a tarp with gold graffiti'd on it

Compare this genuine leather jacket:

To this piece of shit:

A good way to tell the difference between real and fake leather is the texture and shininess of the fabric. Also, when the tag has the word "Man-Made" anywhere for its list of materials, chances are good that it's not genuine leather. Leather jackets are also good in the rain since leather is organic and can absorb water, but I doubt this jacket can

That looks like that cheap naugahyde that old school bus seats were made from. Or those old fake leather beanbag chairs.

I thought vault suits were a dull blue with yellow fabric letters stitched on, that shiny gold just looks bad. I'd say canvas would be ideal, but we've seen Bethesda's track record with canvas...

Yeah, I feel no pity for anyone stupid enough to buy that merch for the reasons described (seriously, that is a fucking tarp tailored to be pleather). As for the suits, I figured it'd have been simpler and look better if you just got a cloth jumpsuit that had the vault-tec logo somewhere as well as the vault number on the back; it being leather is a new one to me and if it weren't for this:
Compare this vault suit not made by Bethesda. Yeah, it's fake leather, but it looks way fucking better.

Even comes with armor accessories.

Wanna know how much that costs? $167.
I'd have said it'd look terrible in leather or pleather.

Not gonna lie though; that's not a bad suit. Love how Bethesda can't be bothered to even make something like this for fans.

That is some of the ugliest fucking shit merch I have ever seen. Only people with autism will buy that. Any rational person knows that shit is ugly as sin and you have to not understand what clothes actually are to wear that.

Even the good version looks completely exceptional. You wouldn't wear that unless it was cosplay because it is supposed to look ridiculous.
I don't think it's for everyday wear. Anyone who would wake up and decide "I think I'll wear a vault suit to work" is probably pretty stupid and likely to get mocked... and fired.

Only humans wearing the blessed garment will be spared from Todd Howard's infinite wrath during the Day of Judgment. $276 of temporal wealth is a pittance to absolve yourself in the eyes of Him.

When people say one of the biblical plagues is bugs, this is not what I was expecting

Big difference between what the fan costumes and what Bethesda is selling - the fan costumes are explicitly for dress-up of men/man-children, while Bethesda seemingly expect people to seriously were their dumb leather jackets out in public.

Here's Angry Joe in his Fallout costume:

Obviously not leather, real or fake, but still doesn't give (a big of a) douchey vibe as the Bethesda jacket.

Never a good sign when a lolcow can do it better than your multi-million dollar corporation.

Also, looks like Joe also got 72 (lbs) bigger, lol fat joke.

If you want to learn how to patch, tailor, and treat leather with the right supplies you can make your own 1:1 recreation of the vault suit. We have the technology to do it the right way the first time too.

Far more satisfying than just buying some Chinese garbage.
