So now even the Ultimate Edition for 76 is getting talks about lawsuits going because the advertised canvas bag that comes with it isn't actually canvas, it's nylon. According to a Bethesda employee it was "too expensive". No refunds.

This game's gonna be the death of them if they keep it up like this.
God I can only hope, they've actually managed to rape fallout to the point people who accept FO4 as a good game are upset.

It would be nice to see Bethesda fall apart and have to sell their IPs, the optimist (or autism) in me believes one day fallout will be returned to obsidian where it belongs.

At the very fucking least Elder Scrolls Online worked well, and apparently it’s still kinda popular.

Bethesda how the fuck do you fuck up your second online game? How do you manage to embarrass yourselves in the biggest way possible?

Greed, also listening to marketing assholes and trying to turn every game into Fortnite.

Bethesda did not make TESO, Zenimax did.

I suspect that there's an aspect of follow the leader in game development, with studios trying to copy what other studios are working on before these concepts get released and go over like a lead balloon.

It's something you see in blockbuster movies, too. Everyone loves them except the audience. It's astonishing, really.

I rented a copy today for a week for shits and giggles and I'm still waiting on the 50GB update download that does nothing.

Why even have the option for a physical copy if it is just paper in shape of a CD? it sounds like some joke until you realized you wasted money on a piece of paper in a game case.
To be fair it's no less stupid than buying a CD with DRM protected software that you need a key and an internet connection to activate anyway, you might as well have a piece of cardboard. Any game you need steam to play doesn't technically belong to you, valve grants you a license for it that they can choose to revoke, you don't own any of the games in your steam library. Someone please correct me if this is no longer the case.

It's so you have something to put in the DVD case so you can put that in your $150 collectors edition steel case so you have something to display in the background when you're streaming.

They should've just scrawled the code on a cocktail napkin after Todd Howard jacked off into it.

Yeah that's pretty impressive.
"This man contracted by us, does not represent us. btw everything he said is true"

Lol I just did a quick search on Amazon for canvas and nylon material by the yard and canvas costs a a whopping 50 cents a yard more! ($5.49/yd for canvas vs. $4.99/yd for nylon) And I'm sure the Chinese sweatshop Bugthesda contracted out to make the bags can get it for a lot cheaper than that! So they pissed off the fanboi's who spent $200 for the ultimate ultra deluxe nerd bauble edition to save literal pennies! I just hope they're pinching pennies so Pete Hines can finally afford the surgery to fix whatever the fuck is wrong with his face.

But hey, at least the Mailman outfit you can buy for seven bucks comes with an actual canvas bag!

Yeah I dunno how people can buy that "too expensive" bullshit in the first place. Surely lots of people ordering the super duper paypig edition will net you more money not less? Since when does production cost more when you work on a larger scale?

>when you make Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel look good in comparison.
edit: Forgot the scores for the other versions

Ya know, maybe Bugthesda have every honest intention of using canvas, but the Chinese factory they called up already had thousands of nylon bags that were rejected for poor quality just sitting in the warehouse, and they were all like "We have bag! We stitch vaurt boy on nyron bag cheap! Nyron bag like game, need patches! Stitchy stitchy one dorra!"

This whole thing just keeps getting more and more awkward with each passing day. What's funny is that a few days ago the local shopping centers had quite a few Fallout 76 posters about and all the Red Boxes I would see had these big Fallout 76 banners plastered on them. Now that shit's all but disappeared and the only one left was vandalized before it got taken down.

Now for something somewhat related:

Redditors admitting they've been scammed by the same company in the exact same manner. Why should Bethesda waste luxurious materials like burlap or canvas on these fools.

Also, mistaking marketing detritus for a relic of cultural heritage (:_(
