That's what the pampered manchildren of Gen X turned it into by being the first ones to colonize it, but let's not pretend that's what it's actually meant for. One wonders how things could've turned out for the better if not for deadbeats like Lowtax or Maddox, even if other manchildren might find that possibility "boring".

Well, apparently, once it left the hands of us entitled manchildren and allowed to fully bloom, it became Cable TV in every way except a thousand times worse, with fewer options than Cable TV, more ads than Cable TV, and subscription tiering that would have made Cable TV in the 2010s blush. One way it truly doesn't compete with Cable TV, though, is you'd need to put a camera on your TV that sends a live feed of your living room back to a security center that tracks everything you do - except even that analogy doesn't work because it'd also need to report back on everywhere you go.

It was better in every conceivable way when it was a dumping ground with thousands of petty gen x manchild despots running little fiefdoms.

It was fun to see their freakouts and struggle sessions, but then you remember that you knew some of these people and they used to be sane people you could play games and joke around with. Like somekind of post-lolcow mocking clarity. The site is more depressing than anything.

That ducc guy in the thread is notorious in the s&box community for being super left-wing and causing problems constantly. Him being the one Garry is arguing with is funny and makes it seem like he's really the only person that has a problem with how things are run.

Garry made his bed by cultivating and placating this community of faggots and troons over the years. Now he's paying the price for it for having the slightest opposition to their views. I'd say that's karma.
 
The continued existence of Knockout retroactively justifies every one of Garry's actions in cutting off Facepunch Forums.
 
The mods adding quips as if garry is below them, despite the fact theyre the ones sperging out is a perfect representation of what happens if you let a space/Fan base become trooned out
 
Question for anyone who may have an account for Knockout with Politics subforum access: Did they wipe the old "Addressing the apparent far-right issues in the Source Engine / Garry's Mod community." thread that I mentioned in January 2025? I don't have an account on Knockout and the URL comes up as Thread Not Found for me. Curious if it got wiped, or if there's been any activity in it recently.

Unsurprisingly, their "Kiwifarms spiral" thread from the whole Drop Kiwifarms thing has been dead for 2 years now.

Edit: Actually even the link to ficool2's final post in that January 2025 post of mine is coming up dead now. Not sure if that's because it's a Politics thread, or if they've purged anything to do with the ficool2 drama off the forum.

I wasn't interested in S&Box until now. "If you are a developing a game for s&box, you must immerse yourself in an environment where "locker room talk" is the norm" sounds pretty chill. I'll check it out fuck it.

threads are still there but they're dead because they don't really talk about anything noteworthy anymore. only update to the ficool thread is when they tried to cross it over with their 2kilksphillip sperging. politics is a mix of the same ultralibbed contradictory opinions you'd come to expect on iran and israel etc. honestly they're just all fucking boring now. it's the same personality talking to a bunch of other similar personalities.

most noteworthy thing is the ukraine thread where people ask occasionally what happened to the 2-3 knockout posters that went to fight for ukraine. obviously they're all dead or greviously injured now but everyone just kind of avoids that subject and the fact they rooted them on to do it years ago

brother, the guy has fuck you money, he doesn't give a shit, neither should he, if i had that kind of money i would trigger troons without a second thought too, who gives a fuck, alas for the time being i have to play my cards right and avoid pissing fags and trannies off

you can't really compare a bunch of self-hating troons to someone who makes a fuckton of money and pays an equally large amount of taxes - as mismanaged as taxes are, he is singlehandedly a bigger contribution to society in that regard than the entirety of knockout posters
