I was okay with sharing personal details and information with a social media site run by a human lizard that sells my data for profit but quite frankly having that info available for free on a private hacker website disgusts me

That's hilarious.

Facebook is a cancer on the backend of the internet. The sooner it's dead and gone the better.

Let's not dwell on the positive, let's focus on what we can do to make it even better. Let's hear your stories: using this info, how many people have you convinced to leave facebook, google, instagram, etc?

This doesn't even bother me. The people complaining about it will be the very same people who shame you for not trusting big tech & wanting alternatives & shit. The real answer is to just not use social media but even business' are requiring employees have social media for some stupid ass reason.
Ted kaczynski predicted this, unironically. Technological slavery. You will be forced to use it by law in the future, mark my words.

If this happened to any non Big Tech company, they'd be legally taken to the fucking cleaners.
But no, not for Facebook.
Not for Twitter.
Not for Google.

Selling people's info needs to be outlawed. That's the only way this monopoly ends.
The FAGMAN conglomerate is untouchable.

By the way, you know how Facebook now may require you to facedox yourself?

If you try to get a decent paying job in tech and you don't at the very least have a LinkedIn with your full name, work history and professional looking photo then you're gonna have a rough time unless you know some people.
You say underlined like it's somehow atypical or dodgy and not the way that 99% of people get jobs in tech anywhere.

On another note, this will cause that stock to temporarily drop... Buy that dip.
It's only a dip if it comes back up.

I basically have one just for application reasons.
Not having social media tends to be a big red flag for most white collar jobs nowadays, especially if you're below 40.
They're starting to get better about this, I think. Probably depends on where you work I guess, but I (white-collar, below 40) haven't been asked about social media in years.
