Both are a possibility, his behaviour is very close to severe narcissism and a feeling of entitlement above others. He has a history of assault and other forms of violence, and I sincerely fucking doubt he is getting attacked or harassed wherever he goes, so he is probably doing that out of being inebriated and feeling he can get away with this horseshit. Either way his career is either dead or close to dying off, he fucked up too hard and won't get away with it considering how new stories about his unhinged behaviour keep popping up!

So, why don't non-binaries who refuse to associate with Ezra simply misgender him? I feel like making a genuine effort to properly gender him would only expose how much leeway the non-binary community gives to shitty people.

They're in a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation. If they let people "misgender" Ezra, that means they're giving a pass for people to "misgender" them. But they also know Ezra is giving them a bad name as a whole (deserved though)
