But the more videos they made and/or the more I watched they kinda kept becoming mini-cows themselves....same with The Youtube Underground. And they stopped being funny or entertaining any more.

Charlie Gold has been really awesome recently, I think. Her Amber videos are spot on and her non-Amber stuff is nice to watch on its own merit.

So how about the rest of you? What your criteria for a "good" Hater Youtuber or what makes a funny reaction? Etc etc?

Personally, I don't really care for the bigger reaction channels because I find them..... lame.
Michaelbepetty, Zachary Michael, that other girl that idk her name who talks about starch all the time. (lmfao)
I like Charlie Gold because she's authentic. The other channels are fake as fuck. They are mean girls pretending not to be mean girls and they've got raging hard ons for amber while pretending to "care" about her. And michaelbepetty is just a fatass who got weightloss surgery and is STILL a fatass and while I'll admit it's amusing watching him project all his insecurities and hypocrisy onto Amber it gets old quick. (lmaoooo he literally is trying to build a brand as a fattie bullying another fattie complete with t-shirts ;))
I dug Zach for awhile but then the yasss queen shit got stupid and he likes to pretend to be this "rational" dude just giving commentary but we all know low key he gets off on talking shit on Amber even if he pretends he's just ~~~~concerned~~~~ about her. But mostly the fag shit got overdone. (and he likes to pretend he isn't a faggy mean girl when you damn well know he is)
anyways, that rant aside.
My favs are "onprogram" or whatever her name is. A fattie who actually is getting her shit together, pretty funny, and uses amber as motivation while making jokes on her. It's a sane, healthy channel with a hero you can root for. I like that.
And Charlie Gold for similar reasons.
I'll check in with Staysi every once in a blue moon cause she's funny.

But I like reaction channels that are sane, healthy, and self aware.

My general feeling about reaction channels is they spend way too much time powerleveling and a-logging and take this all waaaaay too seriously. They're try-hards, kind of like our own little Des B.

None of the reactors are good, imo. If Charlie Goldrilla is losing weight or whatever, then good for her, truly. But who cares? That doesn't make her content good.

We aren't here to fangirl people, that's kind of antithetical to the spirit of this website. That's why you see so much "negativity", @Strawberry Pocky

Anyway, I miss the really subtle edit channels. They were barely fair use, I admit. They would reuplaod Amberlynn's videos and add sound effects like WOOOO and "that is not correct". It was dumb as fuck but just funny. A more enjoyable way to get through Amberlynn's content. I can't remember the names of those channels anymore. RIP.

There’s just no good way to make a reaction video to Amberlynn, I think. Even without being a farms stalker, there’s nothing to say about her that hasn’t been said. She’s only been waddling in the same circles for what, six years since she first started her channel? Your reaction to one of her videos is going to be the exact same reaction to all of her videos; disgust, annoyance, frustration, it just gets old and frankly the people who do react to her aren’t much pinnacles of health and morality themselves.
 
Yeah, the best way to do a reaction is like, a skit or one-off compliation type reaction. Willo's "toxic shock lake" video comes to mind. That was good. But then, there's the rest of his videos and it's... all the issues you mention.

It's not that NOBODY can find value or enjoyment in reaction channels. Clearly people do. I think reaction channels are magnets for people who love to powerlevel. And since we are pretty averse to that here, naturally we tend to view these people with a jaundiced eye.

e: and we're just kiwi farms like who gives a fuck what we think. I don't expect these people to change their content, and I'm not saying they shouldn't exist. I'm just kind of trying to explain to StrawP why they don't get discussed here too often unless it's to get shit on. I'm 100% sure that lots of kiwis are fans of reaction channels. They do not post their faves here because this is a website for snarking on people, not cheerleading.

I like(d) watching Random Content's videos until one day I clicked a video that was, unbeknownst to me, narrated and my god... this monotone, slow af female started speaking and I wanted to scream. I'm gonna find something wrong with everyone eventually so I don't bother watching haydur/reaction channels.

Thankfully I think they only did that once AFAIK. Still a pretty good channel. They compile old shit that a lot of people haven't seen.

Between the old lady reactions I'll take Pam over Sabine every time.
Pam is cringy as fuck, but damn when she pulls shit like that if I don't laugh really hard.
Also; I just find Pam charming. But I haven't watched her in ages aside from that time she got swatted.
I never found sabine amusing or entertaining.

Was the channel called "AmberLard" that used to use a lot of WoooOOOOOOOOOOoooooOOOOOO!!!! sound effects? Or were they the ones that - once upon a time, before they were finally taken down - simply reupload her videos but with some commentary thrown on as snarky subtitles?
But either way I agree with you: the "WOOOOS!" were funny. I wish someone would start using them again.

In general. MOST Amber-based content on Youtube is pretty damn exceptional. Of course we bring it here to the Farms to snark at or comment on or discuss...my curiosity had me wondering what other Kiwis actually found enjoyable or simply what their opinions were is all.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. The cake was an iconic moment but you have to admit she did the absolute most. A month or so ago, I would've defended Sabine; but man, she's a piece of work. With each upload, she reveals her true colors more and more. Tbh, she's more delusional than Amber, but it's hard to tell since no one can make it through an entire video of hers (although I try to since there are some A+ nuggets of cringe sometimes).

I think that the issue with reaction channels is that they all initially bring something new, but that novelty wears off quickly once they fall into the same cycle as AL. Cxnt was and still is great since she was the original Amber archival channel (and the first to trigger big AL). MBP was also fun at first because he was the first actual hater channel that revealed its face. Zach was fun seeing as he was the first openly fan-turned-hater who communicated with Amber, while LyfeOfAFreeSpirit was the first defender-turned-hater. SoPsyched was the first licensed psychologist. Omegon was the first male-foreigner. Aneet Brar was the first foreigner+weightloss channel. Pam was the first crazed older lady...I could go on. Personally, I feel that most Amber-centered channels are doomed to fail, especially if the person behind them is revealed.
I agree with everyone who said that they enjoy one-off videos, or self-aware people who don't cater to their audience's hate-boner for AL (as I'm sure all of you have seen the AL obsessed comments on some videos), but they're hard to come by because Amber's a literal cash cow.
 
StaySi is the only reactor I've ever really liked, and I'm liveeen for her videos. I hope (like someone was saying earlier in the thead) that she doesn't get a big head and go the way of Katie W.

Hamburgerlynn was a good one. Didn't they have the chin dab "ding!"?

I get that it’s supposed to be a take on the Area 51 thing but come on. Anyone who gives AL credibility that people online are stalkeen and boolleen her rather than just laughing at her exceptionalism needs to be put down.
 
Dude, people are getting really desperate about all of this. Even Charlie Gold'$ $cheduled an anticipatory live $tream for today'$ video (why miss out on an overload of superchats for doing absolutely nothing other than powerleveling a deathfat--but kudos to her for finally revealing she's in it for the clout).

I just don't understand why people are so hyped about this. Amber only mentioned it in one post saying that she was uploading something people would be upset with bc her mentals y'all; later clarifying that it would make people sad, rather than it being controversial/polarizing. All this hype accumulated from everyone other than Amber.

She does this repeatedly--mentioning a video ahead of time as though she's promoting a show. From recent memory, she did it with Becky's reveal, Optavia, and all the latest doctor-shopping adventures. What makes this different? I guarantee she's just quitting the daily uploads. Quitting is all she ever does. The hype is cringy and shows people's desperate reliance on Amber for entertainment and money. The hater groups surrounding Amber have officially become more cow-like than her.

Exactly. “AND she’s black!” The reddit is weirdly obsessed with her. Someone makes a point that literally everyone has already made- “Charlie Gold said that! I love her so much <3” If you look at that chat right now it’s all fatties weirdly obsessing over Des B and unsubbing from Amber. Also screaming at anyone who calls them out “Ban the Ambaby!!” The cringe was too strong for me, I had to dip out.
