I think the fact that they keep using that specific characterization, "good person", solely for virtue signaling makes one sick and desensitized to it quickly, especially since it's being used in place of unique insight. They sound like wind up dolls with the same schtick. We all know she isnt a good person, find something worthwhile to say instead of beating the dead horse.

This is exactly it. Also they've muddied the waters with this characterization by conflating big Al's actual bad deeds (animal abuse, GoFundMe Scam, Chronic Lying) with baseless sjw nonsense about ~pronouns~ because someone she dated later trooned out.
That is interesting, and a good point. I do hear them here and there saying "we want to hear about the GoScamMe", but not nearly enough (IMO). Rewatching a few, I do see what you mean about the supposed transphobia thing being wildly out of proportion versus an actual money scam.
Amy Slaton has a history of animal abuse, a gofundme scam, and was sexually inappropriate with an austistic man. This is now all forgiven by the haydurs because she lost some weight. This is in direct conflict with Beetus Drake's, Charlie Gorilla's, and Zachary Michael's argument when they repeatedly bring up Amberlynn's past whenever she loses weight. If it is not about the size of these women then why is Amy forgiven for very similar behavior when she loses weight? Why do the haydurs only go after Amberlynn, Chantal, sometimes Lizzo, and recently another overweight musician? The common denominator is their body size. They can reeee and reeee about Amberlynn's past forever but there is no denying the clear pattern present.
For example: Amy locked a rescue dog in a hot camper, got bit, and sent him back to the shelter where it was euthanized. This is now expunged from her record because she lost weight. It's simply not brought up because she is taking her weight-loss seriously. But to the haydurs, none of this is about weight.
Amberlynn is not a good person. This does not mean that citing this as the reason for their vitriol is at all true. They hate fat women and cannot admit they are pointing and laughing at Amberlynn same as anyone else here.
I will admit I am late to the Slaton train(wreck). I had never been able to get through any of their videos, nor watched any reactions (except I did watch Zach trying to make some of their concoctions, which I found hilarious). The right out of the holler thing turned me off. I can watch the TLC show because it's a bit sanitized (saving my sanity!), but I didn't know they were also actually terrible people (or at least Amy, given this). I wonder why the reactors are not as hard on the sisters. That's a thought to ponder.
The Haydur Nation logical inconsistency of "Ambur Bad" and "I want Ambur to succeed" drives me bats. Why TF would you want a bad person to succeed at anything?

Maybe they want her around to make fun of (and get their own adsense) before she drops dead of a weight-related condition? Or maybe they're trying to assuage their own (predominantly white, predominantly middle-class) guilt of talking shit about someone. Who knows? I'd wager at least some of it is the latter, though. We're all taught that it isn't "nice" to make fun of other people, and let's be honest here, while reactors may think it's just commentary on xyz the target does, at the end of the day, they're still making fun of a morbidly obese, 29 year old toddler. Their protestations that they want her to succeed ring a bit hollow in that context.

Now I want to gag, for real. I doubt anyone would be here laughing at her fat ass if Amber were a "good person" by the usual standards. The last six years could not have happened in Amberverse if she were just a jolly roly poly gal with a channel full of sunshine and charity. I'm grateful that she is an asshole because then I am not as much of an asshole for mocking her.
I think if she were more intelligent, or curious about anything other than her next meal, or well read, or funny, or (insert any trait here that could be seen as a positive), there would be no Amberverse as we know it. It's difficult to truly make fun of decent people, because there's that piece of them to which another reasonably decent person can relate. But she isn't any of those things, so lucky us.
Funny how the person never actually mentioned Charlie or even alluded to it being her aside from the description of "fat woman makes fun of ALR", which can be said about a lot of reaction channels.
