Real answer: he was always pretty stupid and he achieved fame and money at a very young age. He's always been surrounded by yes men and paid flunkies who would never push back against his bad ideas or give him actual constructive input. It's only gotten worse as he's gotten addicted to opiates, and the constant weed smoking from a young age hasn't helped either.
