(Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc said on Wednesday former National Security Agency chief Keith Alexander has joined the e-commerce giant’s board.

Alexander, who is the co-chief executive officer of IronNet Cybersecurity Inc, will serve on Amazon's audit committee, it said in a regulatory filing.

The four-member audit committee, headed by ex-Reader’s Digest chief Thomas Ryder, includes former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi.

Alexander has served as the commander of the U.S. Cyber Command in addition to heading the Central Security Service.

I still don't get why the fuck would you buy an Alexa, even if it didn't spy on you. Guess my autism will save me in the end.

You know how I sperg about the Military Industrial Complex expanding beyond just the Military and "Industry"

Well here we are, the NSA is a very clearly militaristic organization and now Keith can get a "Bonus" by using his NSA contacts to get a multi-billion dollar contract. Which of course he will "Donate" to Political causes..all of whom just so happen to be friends of his.

This fucking shit is vile.

Good afternoon, fellow Kiwis! Perchance, how is your Alexa functioning? I hope you're keeping it in a central location in your house, where you can be heard easily, in case you need any help, or to purchase some fine Amazon products (made in China).

Probably more of a backroom deal/understanding that Alexander can leverage his contacts for contracts and he also works as a contact for his IC buddies as an in for the govt into Amazon at a high level.
Goes both ways, most likely, is all I'm saying.

As I understand these board positions are usually just giving loads of money to those involved for networking reasons more than anything. Generals almost always end up on an MIC board of some kind.

You act like soyboys aren't already using all sorts of devices to pop open their soylent because they're too weak to open a plastic top. Its not even a pickle jar, FFS.

But is not as based as using alexa to activate their soylent-opener devices, come on now get with the times #gulpiegulp
