But when I call a non-Western country a “conservative” country as a coded term for “homophobic,” I am essentially waving my American liberal arts diploma around and saying that being Western means being progressive and being non-Western means being regressive.

I disregard an entire country’s humanity because it isn’t America – and only America is allowed to be nuanced.

I suppose it never occurs to her that the attitudes and thought process she's following here is western as fuck, indian people most likely don't give a single shit about this sort of thing because they're aware it isnt social justice league vs white devil. Ask an indian for his thoughts on pakistan to see how everyone vs whitey pans out.
 
Holding Indians to an ideal of enlightened and woke brown people is laughable considering the caste system they have.

It sounds like a straight-up admission that she thinks non-western societies are too stupid to handle things like not murdering minorities.
 
I only saw one reason(due to the link) and realized I have no desire whatsoever to see the rest if “kissing your relatives when they come to visit” is actually being used as a “reason” men(and ONLY men, apparently) rape.

The list is pretty interesting largely because it implies an inability to distinguish between sexual and family intimacy. There's a total failure to grasp child psychology....their's a reason that children are taught to be obediant and kicking the shit out of people is a bad thing even with a rationale. Their's also a weird distaste of obligation running through the article

You do in fact owe your mother your love if she raised you well and for that matter you are obliged to love your kids.

I'd love to watch how long it takes these people to loose their shit once they realize the kids are creatures of instinct and don't negotiate unless you're in the position of strength.
 
Why don't they just write an article about how you need 1000 sheets of paper with you for consent when it comes to everything!!!How would it play out 'Can we talk?Here i have to consent paper signed by the California state police so you know its legit.'And then another 300 sheets of paper for any exchange of words.Because the folk here probably want that at the end of the day.
