I know you have a fair point there, I just realize that it is less of a frame of reference and more of a religion of crazy marxists at this point because that is what it is.
And that's what it always was. Intersectionality has always meant "white men are the most evilest Hitlers, so women, non-whites and sexual deviants have to team up and bring them down"

Anyone want to explain the whole deal with Steven Universe? I mean, why is it so special to SJWs? (I've never seen it and know jack all about it)
It has lesbians and they can say one of the alien rocks is a proud black wymyn because she has an afro and black-coding basically comes down to racial stereotypes.

It's a cartoon about a boy who is half-human, half alien. The alien half comes from a race of mineral based lifeforms, who all use female pronouns. Because everyone on the planet is technically a girl, there are girls that fall in love, and there are girls that sound like boys. It's a cute cartoon, but people are insane.

Also, these alien rocks "fuse" into larger alien rocks, and combo alien rocks. Also, a man abandons his child to be raised by what is technically a lesbian collective.

I always thought Everyday Feminism was an elaborate satire site because so many of their articles sounds like something that was a parody to poke fun at the extremes of progressiveness, but then I realized that intersectionality is one hell of a drug.

tumblr has almost completely broken my ability to detect satire and I used to be good at that.

MLP is not designed with perverts in mind; Steven's Universe, with its cross-dressers and gender-benders, is.

Horsefuckers brought their own degeneracy to the table.

SU is the degeneracy.

Are there boy little ponies in MLP?

Not as main characters.

It preaches tolerance and good relationship advice, and has a lot of LGBT-friendly material as well as representation of different races and body types, and has members of an all-female race as some of its main characters.

As such, it needs to be protected at all costs and any threat to it, major or insignificant, real or perceived, needs to be terminated with extreme prejudice. Be a white person who does decent-looking cosplay of a black-coded character? Condemn that person for using blackface. Draw a shapeshifting alien rock forcefield person who normally projects herself as a tall, chubby woman as somewhat slim? Harass that person until they try to commit suicide, then mock them in the aftermath.

Slightly off-topic, but could this be the result of helicopter parenting? You have the stunted emotional growth, the social anxiety, the sense of entitlement, and lack of independent coping skills.

I think a lot of the people this happens to have neglectful parents that they wish were helicopter-y. They go to college, and emotionally neglected people gravitate toward codependent weird cliques in colleges that take the place of parental relationships they never had. That's why they're so easily angered by any suggestion of the nuclear family, or anything that will make their clique less codependent (like ideas of free speech/non-groupthink).

A lot of the truly helicopter-parented kids don't do this kind of thing with codependent friend groups, they stay codependent with their parents, a la Skyler Ittner. These, instead, are kids who felt entitled to the kind of "mommy helps me out with stuff" treatment they saw classmates getting, but never had a parent who gave a shit. I knew a couple of kids who were like this. Upper-middle class parents, tons of the people around them had trust funds and shit like that, so they went full Occupy Wall Street to get a clique they could go all-in with. They talked about how if their parents didn't want them to be anti-capitalist, they should have been more generous.

And to nobody's surprise they're back to e-begging already with a 'membership program'

"Being financially sustainable means you will continue getting the life-changing articles you’ve come to expect from us" :story:
I bet the next fundraiser will be something extremely gaslighting. Example, "You're killing trans people by not supporting us!!"

The funding they got already must have run out quickly.

Isn't that basically insulting to trans women? Like, "oh, you can't treat them like real women -- they must be wrapped in cotton wool and treated like children." The same logic used to be applied to POC, aka, "The White Man's Burden".
It's been my experience that anyone will let you claim they're helpless and in need of guidance... as long as you're writing them a check at the same time.

Dear Everyday Feminism readers, we need your help.
Our communities are being targeted and exploited more than ever by Trump and those like him — across the US and the world.

Trump is literally killing us!

If only 4,000 of you sign up for a $10/month membership (the cost of a Netflix account!) we will no longer be in danger of shutting down.

I think I'll keep paying for Netflix instead.

There's even a $40 supporter level. They expect people to waste $40 a month on this? It looks like they are trying to get you to spend the $40 because if you do

Defender ($40/month OR $385/annually)
  • Sponsor a scholarship applicant so you both can access the perks of being a Visionary members!
  • All previous reward levels
Click here to sign me up!

Now I don't know if that means that a scholarship applicant gets a free $40 premium subscription or if you need to pay extra. But just look at the kinds of articles you are supporting!

White Cis-Women Vs. The Rest Of Us: 3 Ways Toxic Call-Outs Reinforce Privilege

You come across a call out post or tweet on your social media. A Black woman pointing out sexist comments overheard at a tech conference. It has your attention, so you try to dig deeper into what people are discussing.
And yet, instead of actual analysis, the discussion has devolved into personal insults and folx grandstanding for their follower counts.
Instead of an actual discussion of the sexist comments, the resulting backlash ends up running the woman out of her career while the mob just moves on, just like it did to computer programmer Adria Richards a little over four years ago.
Experiences like this are immensely frustrating and yet it seems just about everyone has been a witness to it online and hates the falling out that happens as a result of it.
While call-outs are sometimes necessary and sometimes too damaging, and it’s hard to see clearly where the line is drawn.

What the hell are "folx"? Is this that thing I heard of awhile back where the term "folk" was said to be transphobic because it implies men and women? I thought folks just meant people in general?

Tone policing is especially unfair because it reinforces the position of anyone with the privilege to ignore whatever racist or transphobic injustice being discussed. McKinnon explains: “It’s critical to recognize that anger — or being emotional — is a perfectly natural, rational response to being harmed.”
Asking a trans activist of color to be calm or “nice” when speaking out against racist and transphobic oppression is incredibly unfair.

I'm sorry but if a troon is screaming in my face in a bad falsetto I'm perfectly within my right to tell them to back off and shut up.

I actually sometimes use Everyday Feminism as a comedy site. Just pretend it's like The Onion and it can be really entertaining.

Watching these sites trying to convince everyone they have a viable reason to exist, even as they hemorrhage cash is great, I haven't seen hipster denial this strong since the dot com bust wiped out the last generation of "right side of history" thinkers.

This was posted ages ago.
It took these fuckers long enough to realize that the callout culture they themselves birthed was fucking cancer.
