Meh, I had a really asshole male manager who used to hit on alot of the underage teenagers. (I wasn't one of them -- I think he knew I was one of the one who wouldn't put up with it.) Dude was a total asshole. So there are other downsides to having an asshole male manager. (Of course, that doesn't mean you can't have a gay female manager, but this guy was probably one of the biggest dicks I've ever worked with) The thing is, other than him, I liked my job there. :(


The one thing that bothers me about the word "cunt" being so offensive is that when you get right down to it, how is it really any worse than calling someone a dick? It's like, if you really want to treat men and women equally, why is calling someone a name for female genitalia worse than a word for male genitalia? Does that make sense?

Probably something to do with a societial shame / stigma of female genitalia / sexuality. Same reason why man nipples are tv-friendly but female nipples aren't.

It depends where you are, cunt is a terrible word in America, but in Australia it's just a casual thing to call your mate, and in the UK it's somewhere in the middle.

That's one of the things that annoys me most about sites like EF, they're so America-focused, which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't try to talk for everyone everywhere.

Yeah, God forbid anyone around this woman do something to make themselves healthier... It's hard being around people who try to undermine your weight loss because of their insecurity and I'm willing to bet this author took every opportunity to make her opinions known. She's too wrapped up in her ideology, other people not wanting to be fat anymore is obviously because they hate her, or something. Right?

Also, I had to laugh when she talked about going to the gym. Does she really expect anyone to believe she works out? Especially if she's spouting this "people who lose weight are fat traitors" nonsense.

I know the followers on EF's Facebook page will make an exception if you're doing weight loss due to health concerns, but if you do it to be more attractive, that's anti-body positive.

Maybe those female bosses are more likely to have a chip on their shoulders because they're constantly being lectured to like babies about how life isn't fair and the patriarchy won't let them be respected because they're all meanies, also they only get 73 cents on the dollar despite that all the proof says that's bullshit but stop mansplaining.

It's easy to be tempted into acting like a helpless pissy baby when your "advocates" are constantly treating you like one.

It shouldn't actually matter why a person wants to lose weight, though. I've known very few people who were trying to lose weight solely to be more attractive, and they're the ones that either develop a disorder or they fall off the wagon and never get back on.

"Body positivity" shouldn't be "stay fat 5ever ur perfect just hte way u are!!1!!!!" It should be about treating your body right (including maintaining a healthy weight) and not hurting yourself to fit an ideal. Unfortunately the concept has been co-opted by lazy idiots who think putting any kind of effort into your appearance is MUH PATRIARCHY.

If anything, these sexists are delegitimizing a woman's right to shape her body in the way she pleases, including the use of cosmetic or weight-loss surgery.
 
I decided to check out the FB to see people's responses to that article and most of the posters are calling the author out on her insecurities, hypocrisy and wanting to hurt her mom by ordering donuts for her. Of course, the author doesn't get what they're talking about.
 
The only good point is that it is pretty racist when SJWs try to throw everything brown under the same PoC label.

The rest of the article is basically a screaming manifesto telling white people to stop trying while at the same time throwing a fit that white people aren't trying hard enough. I find it interesting that the words "white privelege" are already being cannibalized and shit out in a never-ending game of Leftie Catch-Up.

I also came across this comment on the subject: "I think the point the author is trying to make is that we need to be more careful about / stop using these generalized, catch-all, and often white-centric terms. Ie the term 'white-privilege' in itself is white-centric in that it focuses on the white person rather than the ways in which it oppresses and fosters violence toward black, indigenous, latinx, and other non-white people. "
