They want to get rid of prison?

Do they have no idea how fucking stupid that is? Do they want to let all the pedophiles and serial killers go free?
What they want to usually do is create a rehabilitation program where the crook have healing meetings with the victim or their family (if the victim died). That way they can talk it out, the crook will see what they did was wrong and how (s)he hurt those people and they can heal together. (Along with education and job training.) They tend to look the other way when it comes to addressing violent or unrepentant offenders or they'll mainly blame society. (Which is the annoying part.)

This comes to mind.

But serious, I love the idea of someone asking for a rational discussion, and then just screaming about how they need to be irrational to get anything done.
I also can't help thinking of this Fury Belle comic. It's only bad when it happens to you.

This will be super effective with sociopaths.

Now it's irrational to want the SJW movement to be rational. While there are problems with the prison system and there are bad cops, abolishing both is a dangerous idea. Same with the article's idea that it's all white society's fault if you're a POC, tranny, non-binary and do something wrong. I find this way of thinking disturbing since it creates a mentality that you're an eternal victim where the world is full of hate, society is always to blame if you do something bad so you don't have to take responsibility, there should be no social expectations on you, be loud and in your face, don't think things through (and how your actions and beliefs could hurt others) and you should get a slap on the wrist and told how much your hurt the victim(s)' feelings. Racism, social and economic unfairness tragically exist, but this way of thinking won't make things better. Thanks for listening to me rant and I'm taking a break from looking at these sites since they're making me nuts.
this article has one of the best so-stupid-it's-funny quotes i've seen in a while. as a reason for not being rational they say:

"Being rational can often mean . . . watering down my politics. "

this person has fully realized that when faced with strong evidence and reasoning you may have to adjust your beliefs to bring them more inline with reality so they now are staunchly defending the rejection of reality. 10/10 top notch SJWing

I'm sure this novel, enlightened approach will also apply to rapists too, right?

I lol'd

Of course, sociopaths are just non-neurotypical, and by implying they're bad people you're just being ableist, this is a great idea and is in no way just introducing more emotionally damaged victims to a remorseless bastard.

Their approach to rapists is that they need to empower and heal the victim(s) first and make sure they get some kind of compensation. The rapist(s) are victims of a misogynist and violent society that poisoned their minds and influenced their actions (or they were probably molested). And that less than 5% are truly violent offenders. Then they refuse to answer the question

I thought their approach to rapists was that it was natural for them to do it because all men are predisposed to rape.

I was going to say, they'd probably intellectually short-circuit when someone asked what should be done about all the rapists..... guess they'd have to keep them, but everyone else, hey, just don't do it again? Mmmmkay?

It's misogynist to defend yourself from rapists. You just have to teach them not to rape any more.

From the article:
Alex-Quan Pham said:
In fact, by American standards, my very existence is irrational. For many, I simply do not exist as a queer, Vietnamese femme who is neither a man or a woman. Living in my body, wading through my truths, is not a rational act. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It's theoretically possible for this writer to be genuine, but honestly whenever I see a whole bunch of marginalized identifies cobbled together in combination with stereotypical SocJus rhetoric, my BS detector starts buzzing. That they're using an iStock photo to represent themselves doesn't help my suspicion one bit. Has anyone else ever questioned how much for real these writers were?

From what I've checked on the author's Twitter and Blog, it could go either way. But it would be great if it was a ruse.

Yep.

His argument is pretty terrible, mostly because it's an extension of an already bad argument. He seems frustrated with the multiple flaws being pointed out because his arguments are totally illogical. Also I found this quote is reall interesting

Their goal was to ensure that Black people had the same treatment under the public transit system as whites and they never compromised their goals, even as transportation was denied to them over the course of a year. Without transportation, Black lives were completely disrupted. They had to either walk (for those who had that physical ability), or they had to find other forms of transportation.

As a result, they found a new way of operating — they relied on one another.

Black taxi drivers lowered their prices dramatically, Black people with cars began supplying rides to those without cars, and churches bought cars and station wagons to help those who didn’t have access to a vehicle. They organized carpools and collectively established on pickup and dropoff locations.

That was how Black community members developed their own autonomous, sustained transportation system for thousands upon thousands of people that didn’t involve the American settler colonial government.

How rational do you think that was?

As a logical methodical strategy with clear long term mutually beneficial objectives- Very rational indeed.

Also this appears to be the author

lex-Quan Pham is a Vietnamese queer dreamer. Their favorite word is river. They resist the colonialist, capitalist, white supremacist cisheteropatriarchy through writing, learning, loving, and healing.

The word pretentious total faggot is thrown around excessively these days.....
