So I just got back into this cuz of all the new DLC and I'm liking it a lot, but I'm not able to really nestle into a single campaign. I don't know what it is but the institution creep slowly eating away at your tech cost is mind numbing and I've not made it past 1500. I know that you can feed a single province monarch points to artificially add an institution to your country, but boy oh fucking boy is that expensive as shit.

Any good stories?

Every. Single. Byzantine. Restart.

If you value your sanity, don't do Byzantium.

Byzantium just doesn't seem fun. Doesn't even have ideas to make it seem worth it. If you're going to make some doomed province the later ideas should be amazing.

Their ideas aren't that horrible, but to defeat Kebab only to be ass fucked by Venice is about as fun as being shot in the head. I've seen some people who get a great start right off the bat and go on to dominate, but I never managed it because I A) Suck and B) Have all the luck of an Irishman during the Famine.

Massive necro because King of Kings just released. For anybody who plays the game, what are your thoughts on the new DLC? Good or shit?

I never cared much for the middle east, but I will say, although Byzantium is a little more RNG it definitely seems a lot more fun than before.

I got the Dracula's Revenge and Albania or Iberia achievements. Which are probably the hardest achievements to get in any video game.

All my friends hate me for playing Hansa and Venice.
They look down on the merchant republic gaming.

Little do they know I have my crafty jewish merchants in their trade nodes, and a strong navy to blockade with
