So we had some nutjob claim Gamergate is responsible for this... Somehow.

Back on something with significantly less levity, some interesting information has emerged that suggests that the overpowering majority of these attackers are not Syrian refugees, but rather other Middle-Eastern and African economic immigrants. This correlates with data that indicates that amidst the recent waves of immigration, the Syrians do represent the most numerous group within the immigrants, but not the majority by any means. Iraqis, Afghans, and Pakistanis combined alone are almost double the number of Syrian immigrants.

Sadly, this also correlates with things like the Rotherham Rape Scandal, where almost 98% of the perpetrators were of Pakistani descent.

Analysis yields that the bulk of the Syrian refugees have a significant percent of women and children, and have, by all accounts, come fleeing a regime which has gone well and truly off the fucking rails - a legitimate humanitarian crisis. Unfortunately, the policy this led to is being openly abused by some truly despicable motherfuckers. So now we have Pakistanis, Iraqis, and so on entering under the open border policy and then committing fucking barbaric acts that cannot be tolerated or justified.

It may seem cruel, but the only way to stem the tide of this sort of behavior is to lock down immigration and tighten controls on it.
 
Do you know what gives me a fucking aneurysm about this? The sheer level of hypocrisy.

Feminists claim to be for gender equality. They claim to be pro-woman and anti-sexism. They're quick to point out anything that can be seen as harmful towards women, even if they're just blowing it out of proportion.

But when migrants from extremely misogynistic societies rape women in refugee camps, they're silent. When these men assault women who are just living in their cultures and following their customs (ie Western women enjoying New Years), feminists are quick to point their fingers elsewhere.

Do you know what a real, actual feminist who supports women should be saying right now? They should be criticizing the cultures that breed the ideology that women are inferior to men and deserve to be molested, beaten, or raped if they step out of line or wear the wrong clothes. They should be condemning the migrants who are spitting in the face of European hospitality by assaulting women (women who are actual fucking citizens of the countries that they're squatting in, btw). They should be denouncing the men who are using this crisis to take advantage of vulnerable women and girls who are fleeing persecution.

But no, we can't criticize them because they're brown and come from Magical Muslim Cultures that are equal to Western cultures in every single way, even if they prosecute rape victims and arrest people for leaving Islam. What a joke.

As someone who hangs out with a rather liberal crowd, them being in favour of welcoming immigrants usually involves a deep mistrust of the US and the Western world in general (as well as capitalism and so on). Basically, their argument is "our foreign policies ruined the Middle East, so now we need to take responsibility for that" (those are not necessarily my views, though). One of my closest friends, a usually reserved and very leftist Brit, had a massive chimpout after a common American friend of ours "frenchified" his FB profile pic following the Paris attacks. He went on a rant how pointless and stupid this on-line "activism" was and to an extent he was right, but he never, ever made a similar comment about people making their FB pictures "rainbowy".

I totally understand. A workmate of mine who's toeing the line between Corbynista and Tumblrista was saying the exact same shit in the staff canteen. He got laughed out the room by me and a fellow Conservative leaning workmate who punctured his arguments and set them on fire essentially, but the West being at fault is a common argument.

It's especially funny when you point out that it was Labour who wanted to bomb Iraq so badly, and the Tories are now trying to pick up the pieces.
 
The Guardian posted an article telling people to not shy away from discussing the Cologne attacks just because the perpetrators were Muslim immigrants... while shying away from discussing the Cologne attacks as well as throwing in some victim blaming. They also censored tons of comments.

There are already talks of vigilante groups forming to protect women from future sexual assault because it appears that the police are more interested in covering up crimes than preventing them. I don't normally approve of vigilante justice but if it means that less women will be sexually assaulted, then so be it.

Even leftists are getting extremely fed up with the way liberal media and governments are treating the migrant crisis. I'm hearing more and more people speak up about how ridiculous this situation has gotten. More and more European liberals are saying "Yes, we're okay with taking in people fleeing from ISIS, but the "refugees" who are raping, robbing, and assaulting in our country need to go."

Of course, they're quickly denounced as "far-right racists" for saying so.

Censoring discussion is the worst thing you can do. So is covering up crimes based on the perpetrator's skin color and religion. They think they're "protecting" minorities when they do this but they're actually doing way more harm than good by bending over backwards to protect horrible criminals.

The discussion you linked is pretty great, though. There's an interesting section where people are talking about whether migrant criminals can actually be deported.

I've noticed allot of this recently. All it's doing is feeding rightwing nationalists (Who themselves are antagonistic to women's rights and gay rights. I find it laughable they get to defend concepts they we're arguing against 5 years ago, but they can now because the political left is acting so fucking retarded)
