If the only notable part of your worldview is a lack of belief in a thing, then chances are you're not much of a deep thinker.
I think that's an excellent way to describe these people

I remember having a hearty laugh at some euphoric dingus on Youtube who seriously said that religion would "die out in a free marketplace of ideas". He was also fond of using a redneck voice for his strawmen.
Or say that without religion, the world would be all sweetness and light, not realizing that many of the major wars and conflicts that have gone on in the world have not been because of religion (WWI and WWII, certainly the two greatest of the 20th century, were NOT fought over religion).
This is ridiculous, of course, as we have the closest thing to a free marketplace of ideas as there has ever been in history, and it has, if anything, led to a proliferation of religions and religious ideas.
I would consider socrates to be a deep thinker thoughIf the only notable part of your worldview is a lack of belief in a thing, then chances are you're not much of a deep thinker.
And how would they be brainwashed? By self-loathing because they are gay? What would that make of gay Christians that embrace their sexual orientation? As for that "Catholic School" skit, just how bad is it? So bad only euphorics like that guy himself would find it funny? He also believes that gay Christians are either brainwashed or lying and he has this series of skits called "Catholic School" or something and holy shit is it not funny.
Considering Socrates was a philosopher and all, he would be a deep thinker since his notable part of a worldview was within the realms of philosophy. In other words, there would be many things besides any belief or lack of in dieties.I would consider socrates to be a deep thinker though
You see, this is why I think it would be hilarious if physicists studying the earliest moments of the universe found strong evidence that an intelligent entity created the universe. Because science discovering the existence of God would really piss off the fedora tippers.I found this today.
Fuck off already, Dawkins. Religion will still be here centuries after you and your self-righteous followers kick the bucket.

Regardless of whether you see the explanation as human evolution or our fallen nature everyone can agree that assholes are assholes and they exist because humans are flawed rather than due to what they believeI don't think anyone's going to disagree and say that religious fundamentalists aren't total assholes. (Pat Robertson, Rick Santorum, etc) The problem is, they get most of the attention, so non-religious people assume they're the majority, when they're actually not. Most normal religious individuals hate these guys too. But they're the loudest and the most obnoxious, sadly.
Of course, the same could be said of the euphoric atheists. Most atheists I know are sane, reasonable people who hate the neckbeards. I say we stick the extremists in a room together and sell it on pay-per-view.
Correct. If these were older times, where we didn't have freedom of religion, those guys would have been branded as heretics and disposed of.The problem is, they get most of the attention, so non-religious people assume they're the majority, when they're actually not.

I posted this in DeviantArt horrors, but when I clicked the link earlier, the guy started ranting about cultism and "true and honest atheism" when the other person said they were an atheist.

And Nietzsche is the bestest atheist! You read it here!![]()
Gotta like the Linkara image they have.
And that would be because they follow some slave mentality or morality rather than a master one, even if they say that is what Christians are doing and not them?Nietzsche would call the euphorics a herd as well.

It's that kind of slavish worship of "pop scientists" that makes me wish Science was still seen as a nerd thing no one cared about sometimes. I mean I don't hate said scientists (except maybe Neil De-whatever, black science man he kinda rubs me the wrong way for whatever reason), but I don't get why we can't just appreciate science and scientists as opposed to treating them like their infallible, walking gods who know everything.Yes, that is correct. Euphorics obey atheist thinkers like some Christians do the Bible.
That's because they only care about being right about everything, which is caused by their insecurity, paranoia, and massive inferiority complex. It's that kind of slavish worship of "pop scientists" that makes me wish Science was still seen as a nerd thing no one cared about sometimes. I mean these fucking people go one about how much they love science but don't even understand the fucking basic scientific method (and how scientists are constantly being proven wrong by it), AKA that thing you learn in middle school.
