No I do not. Atheists have been celebrating it too for centuries now.

But you're not even going to give Christians the courtesy of acknowledging that it's an important holiday for them? You're actually trying to take Christmas away from them so you can feel better about celebrating it? Nobody's stopping you from celebrating Christmas, it would just be nice if you acknowledged how important it is to the 2.2 billion Christians who inhabit Earth.

You sound like Dawkins, honestly. You want to have your cake and eat it, too.

You sound like that asian guy on twitter bitching about how rice cookers are important for his culture and westerner cooking soups in them are offensing him.

Ugh. Don't you ever get tired of shitposting? You've been at it for a while now. (*rates self Optimistic*)

Anyway...

I just stumbled across something called "Faces of Atheism" on r/Atheism. It's just as funny as you would expect.

If you hate Christianity, don't celebrate Christmas.
To be fair, early Christianity "co-opted" pagan holidays for Christmas and Easter.

Anyway, I don't think criticizing a religion is inherently wrong, but when one comes off as a haughty jerk in doing so, or shows an unhealthy obsession with it, that's probably not good.

That one by Ralph is especially cringe-worthy. Reminds me of how during the French Revolution, they tried to overthrow Christianity and replace it with The Cult Of Reason - another religion, ironically.

Why is other people celebrating Christmas such a big deal to people? In my experience, Christmas was always about fellowship with you fellow man rather than if you belong in the Jesus club. Is idea of Richard Dawkins opening Christmas cards watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer on December the 25th really that frightening to Christian identity? It's just complaining about cultural appropriation.

It's just that Dawkins is a huge hypocrite in that regard.

And @Cosmos , the "faces of atheism" you posted were hilarious. Thanks for sharing 'em

Earlier this evening, I found yet another smug egomaniac. Nonstop whining about religion and how bad it is.

How rational of you, wasting the only life you have complaining about someone's beliefs!

Fuck off already. You're boring. You add nothing to the discussion.

Utterly sick of your shitposts in every thread.

Thread is now completely lost to unending tides of autism as it's more about the shitposting and subsequent replies than the community, so congrats, have a Plagued rating as an award.

Have a red star.

Atheism + was a massive shitstorm back in the day. It pitted the controlling authoritarian radfems we now call sjw's against a community which was used to being able to ridicule, browbeat and bully anyone who disagreed with them without any blowback from their own community. Two groups of complete arseholes tearing each other apart and squabbling over possession of their hugboxes. Most of it went down on the now infamous free thought blogs network (which naturally was anything but) and was closely linked with autistic nonsense like the 'elevatorgate' scandal.

The jref had a long running thread where less euphoric atheists reacted with horror, its worth a read for those interested.

For extra context- a lot of prominent antifeminist youtube personalities migrated to utube from the free thought blogs during the schism- thunderfoot being tge obvious example. The A+ shenanigans is the ultimate source of a lot of mra type utubers like sargon and thunderfoots long running feud with the far left and the gradual pivot by such people away from focusing onthe religious far right and more on the psuedo feminist far left
