Yes, it was someone else not you who suggested there is no mental illness involved with the morbidly obese. Like Eugenia, many obese youtubers use their eating disorders for “fame” or online attention. Not all feign to be on a weight loss journey, Hungry Fat Chick certainly never has and I think Foodie Beauty abandoned that charade by now.
Idk what makes you think Eugenia is in the dark about her condition. She has been to rehab where she spoke with medical professionals who certainly did not hold back in laying out for her the severity of her illness. The cartoonish representation of an emaciated woman looking in the mirror and seeing an obese person staring back is just not an accurate depiction of body dysmorphia, as far as I have witnessed. I’m inclined to believe Eugenia knows full well what her body looks like, based off the sheer amount she flaunts it through scantily clad selfies or on stream or in videos, where she seems gleeful about her “progress” and eager to show it off.
Someone who is severely dysmorphic would cover up more, like Eugenia did when she was fresh out of rehab and likely hiding weight gain or swelling. She also wore baggier clothes when visiting the police station rather than her typical dress of showing off her bones online because again, she is aware of how she looks. She may feel some sort of invincibility over her health and is definitely delusional in several aspects, but I believe she is fully aware of exactly how she looks, is aware of the resultant health problems she suffers off camera as well as further imminent risks, and doesn’t care about the latter, because she seems willing to die to her disorder at this point. I see the same sort of resign in the beloved Amberlynn Reid and many similar, despite whatever fronts they put on for show, they are evidently willing to die rather than seek adequate help.
Morbidly obese youtubers are usually a bit deluded about their conditions too, thinking they are smaller than they are or that the state of their health is not as bad as it is despite doctors advising them, even showing signs of the same arrogant sense of invincibility as Eugenia. I still maintain that there are many similarities between the groups. I think there are much different reasons for why Eugenia gets more sympathy from most platforms including KF, but I can agree to disagree.
