You're contradicting yourself. If you don't care that a person is obese, why are you afraid of being their size and consider it a flaw?

Anorexia is not a true disease, like schizophrenia or wu-flu. It is a set of maladaptive behavioral patterns that are centered around a set of thoughts and beliefs. That's why the most successful treatment for it is CBT and other behavioral therapy that focus on changing those thought patterns and beliefs. A lot of anorexics will claim they don't care about others being fat, but they are either lying to look better, or lying to themselves, because not disliking fat is antithetical to the disordered thinking that is controlling their lives.
Because it’s an inability to see reality. A person with body dysmorphia can claim their nose is MASSIVE, yet shown the same nose on another person, say it’s not that bad. Anorexics don’t have an objective vision of what they or anyone else looks like, it’s distorted and heavily skewed in favour of berating themselves.

Yeah, anorexics are deathly afraid of themselves getting fat and hate the idea of it, but my point was more that they’re not constantly noting every fat woman they cross paths with...their obsession is with their own flaws, not others’.

But you’re totally right, that way of thinking IS a contradiction, because the entire thought process of an anorexic is illogical and contradictory. There are anorexics convinced that a single cracker, if eaten, can cause them to show a one pound weight gain on the scale next day. Somehow. It’s not a condition where logic and reason exist.

But yeah as others have said the ana-boards are filled with people bolstering their own belief system by shitting on “whales.” But those are just the most visible, most invested in the “lifestyle” people. I guess my point is that the majority of anorexics are suffering in a lonely prison of their own minds, not feeling popular-girl smug, and I don’t think Eugenia feels that way either, or at least not often.

As for anorexics baking and cooking constantly to feed family and co-workers to “fatten them up”... anorexics can often get obsessed with cooking for others because it’s a way of interacting with food without actually EATING it. It’s a “safe” way to interact with the thing you’re always obsessing over, without actually ingesting any dangerous calories.

It’s also a common dodge to get people off your back and disprove your anorexia. “How can I be an anorexic, mum? I LOVE food, I’m always cooking!” Anorexics go to great lengths to preemptively “prove” they’re eating in ways that don’t actually involve being seen eating. Leaving dishes in the sink that haven’t actually been used, etc. Anorexia is a secret addiction and the idea of “I have to hide this from others, they won’t understand, I know what I’m doing, they’ll try to make me eat!” is key.

Yes. But it's very much directed inwards and how an anorexic views others depends on the individual. Some don't judge others harshly, others use them to fuel their disease. And it doesn't matter what size others are if they're judging them: the obese are how they fear they will become without their ED, the normal weight and underweight are competition. This effect multiplies if any of these mention dieting or weightloss.

Probably the funniest thing I've ever seen is an anorexic admonishing fatphobia.

That message at 1:13 actually got her thinking, and then she got passive-aggressive because she didn't know how to answer.
Oh, wow. I have never really seen her respond that way before. That was an extremely long pause and her eyes were clearly showing she was trying to dig for an answer but couldn't come up with anything. Funny that she didn't try to refute the analogy at all. She knows that she's in danger and (some) people out there are genuinely concerned. She wanted so badly to fall back on that "I'm sorry you feel that way" phrase but couldn't because of the question itself mentioning it. That's the only go-to she has for questions that put her on the spot or make her uncomfortable. Nice job to whoever wrote out the question. That silence said more than any generic words she normally spouts.

That's Eugenia on a good day. It's the starvation. Most of us wouldn't make much sense after starving and dehydrating for a few days, let alone for half of our lives. Her eyes are derpy because she has very slight exotropia- one of them is turned out. It's common and if you pay close attention to people's eyes, you'll notice it a lot. It tends to get worse when people are tired or sick and Eugenia is always both.

Oh chat...

I had so much I wanted to say, but I'm lazy and you did a great job in your last couple of posts breaking it down. Hats off to you.

Also-- someone mentioned 1-2 pages ago the mental chaos that must ensue when you go from being naturally thin (that is, slender, healthy BMI, no visible bones like ribs visible on your back) to the depths of anorexia. One of the biggest challenges with people who develop AN at a relatively young age or as a teenager and don't get help is that they miss the 'bodily milestones' so to speak of the average female. As a teen develops, she develops breasts, some degree of fat around the hips, a widening of the hips (to support childbirth). Imagine you've been emaciated all of your adult life and then decide at age 30 that you're tired of your lifestyle-- you finally admit to yourself this is no way to live and as "positive" as you say you are to quote EC's words, you're actually living a sad empty life. Weight restoration becomes infinitely harder because there is no reference point. You can't look back on the times when you were a freshman in college and enjoying your newfound freedom and being happy, not focused on your weight. While others your age may have put on some 'normal' and expected degree of weight as they age through their 20s, the longterm AN whose disease started young never had that experience.

Imagine one day waking up and freaking out because you're in this body that feels so foreign. All of the normal female features suddenly seem awkward and wrong. It becomes all the more triggering and easier to slip back into your disease. This goes hand in hand with the fact that the longer a patient is weight-restored, the better their chances of long-term recovery.

As it has been stated ad nauseam, her mother is a pos. Sure Eugenia is a adult blah blah blah, but Jesus Christ the girl is a skeleton and with covid ramming itself up people's assholes she doesn't have the immune system to even try to fight it.

The 2013 Eugenia has the chipmunk cheeks of a bulimic. I wonder if she started that way and then went full on ana.
Might just be age tbh. Facial features change with ageing. No one's face looks exactly the same after eight years. I believe she has always had anorexia.

The facial changes are grotesque
Honestly, I don't blame her for hating her face shape. She always tries to hide it behind her hair. It is quite round, and starving herself to death doesn't get rid of it. Sucks having a feature you can't change that isn't very attractive. It's even rounder than Tiffany Trump's unfortunate face:

Eugenia's face isn't that round to be honest. Her facial features are well-proportioned, not all bunched together in the middle of her face like Tiffany Trump.

I don't think so. I think it was just baby fat as she was only 18 at the time, and a lot of people have baby fat in their face well into their twenties despite being super skinny.
