Eugenia had actual friends who tried to help her, but she perceived it as bullying. Why? Because she doesn't think she has a problem. Just like alcoholics and addicts, until they see they have a problem, no rehab on Earth will rehabilitate them.

Her parents and brother complicate the situation because they believe she's fine and they tell her so. Until they see the walking corpse in front of them, admit she's unwell, and express that to her, no one is going to get through to her.

Why the hell do people think you can force a grown woman to stop starving herself? I mean a bunch of people actually did do that last year and see how well that turned out.

If someone is determined to starve themselves, they will. Anorexia is considered one the hardest mental illnesses to treat for a reason. All the greatest friends and best influences won’t do jack shit. Morons give Eugenia attention and constantly “worry” about how thin she is and that gives her great pleasure and satisfaction.

The best thing for her is for everyone to ignore how skeletal she is and never comment upon it. She makes videos simply to hear everyone tell her how thin she is and how concerned they are. It’s positive reinforcement for her. It would be easier to treat her if the online community cuts off her attention supply.
 
After seeing some Cooney family photos, my theory on why Eugenia looks how she does is because she doesn't want to be morbidly obese like her mother and brother.

You are so right. She loves the attention, loves the hysteria. And it’s all so absurd as this misguided looovvvveeee comes from strangers (most of which are under 17 years old). Best thing these social media warriors could do, is ignore her. She is PATHOLOGICAL. You can’t fix her.
But she’s got these weird obsessive followers that probably emulate her skinny ass. I hope youtube takes her channel down. (And foodie moodies too. Talk about a train wreck🥱)

You make a great point. Also, I suspect there are other nice young ladies suffering with this but for other reasons. They don't want attention drawn to it, and any concern shown scares them and puts them at greater risk for self-harm. I'm not saying that girls like this are watching Eugenia, but if any are or were made aware of her, all this "concern" shown might scare them and make them worse.
Not everyone with eating disorders is an attention whore. Some have very real trauma, and it just might be more beneficial to not give any attention or acknowledgement to the anorexia as a means of attempting to treat the trauma that causes it.

Just my opinion though.

And also she comes off as an incredibly incompetent mom, she probably dies for her kid's approval and gives in to their wants when it comes to empty stuff like going to Disney and concerts and buying dolls. But then tries to assert herself by controlling random aspects of their lives that are non issues like getting a permanent driver for Eugenia. And Eugenia probably drank the mom Kool Aid, the narrative that the mom is so good bc she always "gave them everything". And lacks life experience and, lets be honest, cognitive capacity to introspect and realize her mom's priorities are not quite in order

This is not an uncommon dynamic between skellies and their enabler moms, actually. If you think about it, Ashley Isaacs the lich queen is the same way (linking for those who don’t follow her). She gets off on the attention she gets for being so disgustingly emaciated and her mom enables her (or at least did for a long time).

I do wonder something, though. Ashley has an underlying “fuck you, Mom” vein of spite toward her mother and it’s almost like she makes herself as much of a burden as possible for that reason, to spite her mom.

Skelly Ginger Anna is the same way, with her sick widdle girl routine and nasty ostomy bag explosions. She actively tries to be as burdensome to her mother as possible just to spite her.

Given that the dynamic between Eugenia and her mom is so fucking odd, could there be something similar there?

I think her Mother encouraged her to keep her weight down at one point for her career. Eugenia was signed to an NYC modelling agency as a teenager. She was later dropped because she couldn't comply to their rules about social media reputation and posting and she kept losing weight. Obviously her Mom and and the modelling as a teen influenced the disorder but I don't think it propelled it to the full extent. She has an underlying mental pathology.

Eugenia at the start of her signed modelling career (the picture is hard to look at now because she was once a pretty girl)

Maybe he can make his comeback by making another docuseries about her and filling it with virtue signaling. For real though, she needs help and she should go back to treatment. And stay away from the internet for A WHILE, maybe even a couple of years.

I don't think Eugenia stays sick to spite her mother. The family dynamics are borked beyond belief, but Eugenia's mother is an accomplice to her eating disorder, not an obstacle.

When Jackalyn 5051'd her, Debra did everything she could to prevent Eugenia being taken away. Debra also pulled Eugenia out of rehab early, after only a month of treatment. What, why, and how Debra has invested herself into Eugenia's eating disorder, I don't know, but they are viciously codependant and sick together.

If there is spite in there on Eugenia's part, it's wasted on her mother, since it seems like her mother wants Eugenia to stay sick.
