Looking her up by her maiden name gives more of a full address history. This is not listed under her other name (Cooney), which only shows the address in CT.

i absolutely agree, and unfortunately don't think anyone in her family will do that for her, nor does she have anyone else in her life that will do that for her. she clearly had some success when she first was hospitalized and took a break from the internet, but she fell right back into the same pattern of everything immediately after coming back and not only is her family not stopping her but they are actively engaging in it. her family need some serious therapy as well, especially the mom.

Pretty sad because relapses for hardcore addicts is totally normal and expected, even when quitting something initially goes well, and what one needs to do is to be prepared for relapses and get back on the quitting-wagon as fast as possible. I don't find Eugenia to be a cow since she's just too... uninteresting and stupid. I don't know a nice way to say it. Her brain seems permanently fried and stunted from years of starvation. Everything she says is very boring, if it weren't for the fact that she looks like a skeleton she wouldn't even have views. I don't recall ever seeing or reading her say anything scandalous. Probably the worst thing she's done is defend Shane. Some argue that the fact that she makes videos and shows off her ana body at all makes her a scumbag, but I disagree since she seems too dumb to do it out of malice or understand how it encourages eating disorders. Otherwise, she stays out of drama, doesn't get into twitter/youtube beefs, and her thoughts or opinions on anything is either non-existent or lukewarm at best. She's been starving herself since she was very young, so I don't see her ever outgrowing her student child mentality (that assumes she lives much longer at all). She reminds me of a less bratty Jazz Jennings. Her life is carefully controlled by her mother like Jazz, the only main difference is that Eugenia's mother is very private about herself and about their home life.

That Shane documentary was clearly just Shane looking for easy views, so of course he didn't care to watch how he phrased things. He already has his own thread so I won't talk much about him. The one thing I remember from that Shane ""documentary"" is Eugenia not even being able to figure out how to unlock her door; if there was an emergency, how would she get out? The fact that she had no idea how to do something so basic really makes you wonder wtf is going on in that house.

As for Jaclyn, I dislike her, but I don't see how what she did here was wrong. I dislike the amount of hate she's gotten over trying to help someone when all previous attempts had failed. If Eugenia had died people would have been asking why her friends and family didn't do anything. I feel like in these situations, when someone's health is so bad you know they are on the brink of death, you have nothing to lose by forcing them to get help. You risk angering your friend and losing that friendship forever, but you also risk losing them via death, so why not go for the option that may help them live longer?

Another thing I find irritating are the people acting like Jaclyn herself decided to get Eugenia sent off. That's not how it works. Jaclyn can make the claim that Eugenia needs to be institutionalized, yes, but it's up to the proper authorities to make an assessment and decide if the claim has any merit and then act accordingly. If all you had to do was make the claim to get people sent off, do you know how many trolls would use this for lolz or to get their enemies sent away? Getting forced against your will is tough even in liberal states. They are hard to get because people have to sign their names and have very credible evidence and belief to justify taking someone away and institutionalizing them. It will undoubtedly go to court and if the court finds out that you sent a perfect healthy and mentally sound person to the looney bin, you're ass is in trouble.

Therefore, these types of situations have to meet a high standard before being signed off on. It has to be "the fallout from NOT putting this person away will be worse from the fallout if we do". The fact that Eugenia was taken away against her will means that the proper authorities saw Eugenia and determined that she was a danger to herself and that she was at greater risk of harm or death if no action was taken. This brings me to Kati, and why Kati is such a scumbag. Kati absolutely knows how the law works. For her to throw Jaclyn under the bus and then use Eugenia as a way to shit on Jaclyn, and act like Jaclyn is at fault for Eugenia being sent away against her will is wildly misleading. The worse thing about it though is how that video she made will just discourage people from trying to help their friends and family.

Tbh, it's a wonder Kati doesn't already have her own thread. I assume it's because her videos are long and boring af to watch. Her shilling that BetterHelp scam alone was bad enough, but I've found her annoying way before this scam or Eugenia was situation happened. She acts like like she's so nice but it's pretty obvious she's a fraud. An actual nice person wouldn't take advantage of mentally ill people by having them join the scam that is BetterHelp. An actual nice person wouldn't use their platform to push narratives that certain Youtubers are sociopaths, or that Jacyln was wrong to try and help a friend. Unfortunately, anorexics are the definition of pig-headed and only recover when and if they want to. People like to paint anorexics in an uwu so cute light because it's been romanticised in the media so much, but, due to the nature of the disorder, anorexics are cold, manipulating strategists who make everyone play their little game. Not that they can necessarily help it, but they can be very nasty people when their way of life is threatened and will throw anyone and everyone under the bus in order to keep their eating disorder going.
Many people took Eugenia's hospitalization as the be all and end all of her eating disorder, failing to realise that she was only receiving help because she was forced to. She didn't engage with therapy, a meal plan or discharge services, and inevitably relapsed when she hit the first bump in her recovery. She was doomed from the beginning.
Eugenia is someone I deeply feel saddened by, and I can't see her recovering any time soon - she simply doesn't want to. YouTube attention and her shitty family feed her anorexic thoughts, and there's no one there to break the cycle.
Shame really, she seems nice enough.
She's just another young woman lost to such a horrible disorder, and she won't be the last.

I've been assuming the mother is also an alcoholic--much like her father. The parents are both pretty retarded. I get the feeling that the mother wants to live vicariously through the daughter because she's always been a fat pig, herself. While I suspect (as some others do) that the father may have sexually molested her or at least abused her in some very inappropriate way, because she's skinny while the mom is gross looking.

It's also a really sad state IMO if she HAS her own home but cannot get her family to leave her alone. It grosses me out so much that the mother and father see these two and just.... think it's fine the son is a blob, most likely is a virgin and unable to attract women (not being mean, because honestly letting your kid be this fat is child abuse and cruel), while the daughter is literally starving to death. the shane doc was filmed at her house which im pretty sure is in southern cali, but the mom was definitely around (the tv was on and shane said something about it but the mom didnt want to be seen on camera for some reason) and seemed like she probably was there a lot. IIRC eugenia mentioned in that doc about how her mom and her are kind of back and forth between there and CT, her mom mostly while i think eugenia spends more time in cali than not, and the brother was at college in wyoming (edit: i read the university name wrong its actually in california so that throws a small wrench in my idea of the family dynamic as far as location). im assuming the dad is in CT most of the time but i could be wrong. i bet a lot of these details are hinted at across her thousands of hours of streams and whatever but i could never be assed to sit through that shit. most of what i know is just from mild observation and other youtubers.

the dad was was stock broker or something along those lines, and theyre from greenwich CT (stepford wives town) which is mostly old money but pretty much all very rich. my first impression was that the family was living off of eugenia, but now i think the family was already probably very rich (eugenia's childhood home is apparently worth 1.3 mil and the parents networth is recorded as around 3.5 mil). that just adds more credibility to the munchy abusive shit. i also wouldn't be surprised if sexual abuse was in play at some point, whether from the parents or someone else.
