This is probably too optimistic but I genuinely hope she recovers. Ana is a bitch and a half to live with and I genuinely am happy to see her eat. She really needs to get away from her mom and the internet . For ppl struggling with an ED, saying she's so frail and sick and skinny validates them and makes it worse tbh.. I hope she can recover
 
Same. Always have hoped she recovers, just doubt she will.

Still, she walked into her idea of total hell (not just food, but a restaurant!) just to make a video ... so who knows now?
 
My personal opinion/crack theory is that she has some therapist or case worker or psychologist, and was explicitly told/challenged to post a video of her eating to her social media.

Why? Because "I love being an influencerrrr" is probably the only good motivation for her, so someone could say, "Okay Eugenia, post a video of you eating to social media.... maybe that'll help you get re-monetized!" And she would hear that a lot better than she would hear any other sort of talk like "yer gonna die" which doesn't get through to her.

It honestly confuses me why she hasn't been doing this from the start? Her mom is thiccc so obviously there's food in the house. From that we can sort of assume that Eugenia has the willpower to starve herself in a house full of food... so why not use food as props?

Leave a plate with food just barely off screen "oh sorry guise that's from my breakfast!" She could take a random 15 min break while streaming "going to go grab a snack, everyone be sure to stay hydrated!" To go sit on the couch for a bit and come back and talk about the chicken sandwich or whatever she pretended to eat, take a few sips of sparkling water so she has a few burps as if it was a real meal.(adding to this real quick, she never has to actually eat/drink on stream. I've seen plenty of steamers darken their cam while they eat/drink or just move out of frame for a moment) She could do "taste tests" of kawaii Asian snacks and jump cut every swallow. She could get a dark shaker bottle, fill it with water and tell everyone it's a protein shake. Pick a dessert and make it her "favorite" post a weekly "banana split night!!!"

It would be SO easy to shut half her audience up just by pretending to eat. I always thought to anas that the whole "not eating" was the important part, I never realized how much of their problem is also "making sure no one else knows I eat"
 
she probably gets off on an idea that she appears ethereal, not needing water and food, and even taste testing is for gross mean, evil commoners

@Chocola I agree. There’s something about her that provokes the notion that she’s not all sugary sweet as she likes to portray. Yes, she’s pitiful, caught in the skeletal grip of a horrible condition but I’m not buying what she’s selling.

Or it could be that I’ve become too cynical in my old age.

When she streamed, she wouldn't drink water for hours on end, even when she would randomly start choking. I think part of her disease is her being afraid of people even thinking she eats. There have been times she's gotten super defensive at people implying she ate/drank something, no matter how innocuous.

I think she did it once just after she got sectioned by her friend, but don't quote me on it. Too lazy to look it up, but that's about when I started paying (intermittent - she's the only cow that just makes me sad) attention to her.

After her "intervention" years ago she made a come back video of sorts(it was speculated a lawyer was present as she kept looking off to the side), at the end she took a lone sip of orange juice and said she was off to eat lunch or something.

The comments freaked out that she's DoInG sO mUcH bEtTeR and TrYiNg aaaaaand look we've almost come full circle.

I don’t know what her intention is. But yes. I have watched this bitch for years. Like waaaaaaay back when. And this is the first time I can ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, remember her eating on camera. Even if she didn’t show herself swallowing.

I’m sure my fellow Eugenia watchers from way back even before Daniel tosh showed her twerking. This is - pardon my dramatics - fucking insane.

My jaw is literally on the floor. I can’t believe she uploaded a video of her biting food.

This is so astronomically out of character for her and her channel that I can only be….. fearful that something is really, really, wrong. Something has changed and likely not for the better if she has uploaded this.

Like this bitch might be on hospice levels of something has went wrong.

Maybe when she was at Jeffery stars house she really was trying to rehab herself into recovery (good ending to her story)

But something has really changed in that house. Even her fucking mother seems off watching her record that. I don’t know man. But something is up.

she couldn't eat even half of the lobster roll in the video without having refeeding syndrome. no wonder she only eats the tiniest bites you've ever seen. it is concerning, though, it's certainly out of character for her.

Most likely she ate cause she got age restricted on tik Tok or whatever the hell it is and was so upset about it she stopped posting for weeks and maybe wants to change her image.
 
As surprised as I was to see her eating on camera, the ridiculously tiny bites are making me wonder: what does she actually eat off-camera on like... a regular day (or few days?)

If a french fry is that much of a burden to eat I'm genuinely curious about what a regular """meal""" looks like for her. Celery? A few grapes? Lots of liquids?

ETA: if this video is a genuine indicator that she's willing to recover I really wish her the best, but I actually don't know.
 
I really think her mother enjoys Euginia's state of arrested development (and as a bonus, Eugenia brings in the bucks). Anorexia is only one of her issues. She's pushing 30, lives in a room decorated for a child, plays dress up and doesn't have a single life skill. She will always be a little girl who'll never leave mommy (well, until she dies of starvation).
 
Eugenia’s mom is a bizarre mystery. I still can’t understand her claiming Eugenia is just naturally skinny on camera and helping with the body check photography. I don’t believe her mom actually believes Eugenia is actually a naturally emaciated but I can’t figure out the rationale with playing along with the delusion on camera.

I have to imagine they sought treatment when Eugenia was a teen and things didn’t go well. There is a really wide range of opinions among therapists on how to handle anorexia when it comes to teens and adults. I figure the very wealthy CT town they live in has plenty of experience with ED but I just wonder what kind of weird “support until they are ready” and play along type of advice they’ve gotten.

I’m sure her mom will blame the “forced treatment” in California as the set back that ruined everything.

I agree something major happened. I have a feeling it was health related and bad enough that some reality has been foisted upon Eugenia’s bony shoulders.

It was bad enough that mom and Eugenia had to take a sea side getaway to practice chewing tiny bites of food. I’d bet she’d been practicing a few tiny bites of food for a week or two before the dramatic step up doing it on camera and in a restaurant. I’m sure it was spit out but mom is proud of Eugenia’s big brave bites.

It certainly has something to do with getting back non-age restricted privileges on SM but that’s just one component, but it’s a better motivator than not starving to death.

I think there was something to her visit with Jeffery Star too that involved getting Eugenia to accept some degree of help. I think he’s dangling some project if she can just lessen the Anna Chan Queen image. Pitch it as just a business and image thing. She’d get so much positive attention if she gained 20 lbs. the sponsorships would flood in but Starr would be first in line and it would do wonders for his battered brand.
