TLDR Eugenia is conspicuously not woke.
No, which I think is fascinating. I think she's so absorbed in her own little world that she is unaware that the internet went woke. It's also possible that she is low-key racist. A lot of girls on the internet during her time were subtly racist. They wouldn't talk to black girls, referred to black culture as "ghetto", discouraged each other from dating black guys, and shunned anything involving hip hop. They were also transphobic because there weren't as many troons back in the day, and they were all hons. Very few FTMs and young MTFs. If they did let a troon into their friend group, they viewed him as a gay man, not a woman. Many women are still like this but they have to act like troons are women. This wasn't as big of an issue back then because younger troons in the late 2000s also saw themselves as closer to gay men than women.
They did support gays as long as they were cute yaoi emo/goth boys, and would claim to be bisexual because they made out with a female friend once. Jeffree Starr looks like a troon but he's actually more like RuPaul so Eugenia is ok with him dressing like a chick.
Some old school anorexics paid lip service to animal rights movements as a cover to allow them to starve themselves with a meager vegan diet. Eugenia is not one of them.
Perhaps it's because Eugenia isn't on Tumblr and is locked away in her house. She never got exposed to the new propaganda. She could've gotten exposed to woke ideas in the Pro-Ana forums because the modern iteration has a lot of similarity to the troon movement. But I don't think she's on those forums much; Youtube and Twitch are her main stomping grounds. She doesn't want to be found in Pro Ana groups because then it'd be proof that she knows she is anorexic. She gets great pleasure from not acknowledging it.
I've heard that traumatized people often get locked in the year that they were traumatized and hold onto the fashion and music from the months just before it happened. Eugenia is stuck around 2008 to 2009. That was the weird transition period between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0. It predates woke culture by about 3 years. She even still talks about cliques and subcultures, which is fascinating and nostalgic af. Like when her mom dressed her up as a prep. Nobody talks like that anymore except in the context of identity politics. It's like she has been frozen in time.
