I liked Angry Joe because he was passionate about video games. Behind his anger was a genuine love for the entire industry.

I never gave a shit about 99% of the creators because they were shitty Nostalgia Critic knockoffs to begin with. Channel Awesome should have picked better creators. I did like all of Doug's videos, Lindsay Ellis, Cinema Snob, Angry Joe, and Spoony.
It seemed like towards the end in the final years of the site they just let anybody in. They let Chris Stuckmann in despite his videos going against the rule of "Your videos need to be something beyond just talking to a camera" which is exactly what his videos are. Plus, he already had success on YouTube at that point so becoming a Channel Awesome member wasn't really necessary for him as being on site wasn't really gonna boost his numbers much higher.

Is that the same porn critic who showed Filmbrain a porno that caused him to throw up?

Pretty much. A lot of people left, and Doug wanted to bring in even more people than they'd already had, so they started opening the flood gates. In 2011 they told people not to bother applying as they already had a long list of people they were going to slowly add to the site. But then more and more people left and so they started to fill in the holes.

It was funny seeing Linkara's audio drama where he invited everyone who had ever been on the site to be in it, and then wrote them in even if they had nothing to do. There were so many people I'd either forgotten or never known were on there, like that HP Lovecraft reviewer who was supposed to be Lovecraft, it just highlighted how excessive the cast list really was.

I don't even remember who half of these fucks were, some are pretty recognizable though. I completely forgot that JonTron and PeanutButterGamer were on there for a short bit. I think that was before they both formed Normal Boots together. ReviewTechUSA was there for a bit too, I didn't even know that.

I didn't even know this dude was still around. Thought he fell off the earth years ago. Always thought he was one of the weakest TGWTG contributors. As far as Great Value Nostalgia Critic clones go he's pretty bottom tier.

As far as lamest producer? Yeah probably. A lot of producers on that site I thought were lame as fuck though. Like, I never got the appeal of Angry Joe. I tried desperately to like his videos many times but something about him always got on my nerves. I'm amazed he got as big as he did, even surpassing Doug in popularity with his YouTube channel making him the most popular of the former contributors. I never liked The Lightbringer either. When I did go on the site the only people I cared for were Doug, Noah, Brad and Phelan. I couldn't give a fuck about anyone else. A lot of them I don't even remember the names of because towards the end of the site's run there were way too many fuckers to keep track of.
The only Channel Awesome producers I like are Todd in the Shadows, Phelous, The Nostalgia Critic, Guru Larry, MasakoX, and maybe The Cinema Snob. The rest are either completely inept or boring imo

Guru Larry is an absolute chad trying to be the last man standing before they shut the site down, love that bloke.

Never liked Larry. Insists upon himself. He made a living feuding with D-celebs on YouTube and sticking his nose in drama that he has zero business being involved in.

do you think it's safe for us to label ERod as the lamest Channel Awesome producer? he definitely deserves that honor imo
Yeah like he is a Linkara ripoff though it is hilarious that his big grievance with the #ChangetheChannel document is not being a Gary Stu and saving the day with his magic hammer powers for the cancelled 10th anniversary

And that's just Channel Awesome proper. We’re not even getting into the knockoffs: Chez Apocalypse, Reviewtopia, the League of Super Critics...each somehow worse than the last. The Agony Booth tried pivoting to video then vanished behind a paywall no one asked for and no one uses. That one stung. Their Star Trek reviews were great. Then they swapped it all out for dudes in sunglasses doing “bits” with cigars and evil villain chairs. Bleak.

That's Dick Bush, the guy who made the baneposting porno from a decade ago. Funny dude.

Who gives a shit about Erod or Venom? Why is this guy even in the conversation? Including him is like if ESPN made a movie called Kato: Made in America and it’'s reenactments of a himbo crashing on OJ's couch.
I don’t think anybody does. But it’s what happens when you get two people who really shouldn’t be on the internet unsupervised .

That's kind of the point of the video. Venom is a moron who inserted himself into the CA drama. Erod is a moron who BS'd about his time with CA, and for some insane reason Erod's wife who definitely needed to log the fuck off, kept communicating with Venom(and vice-versa). With everyone threatening to kill themselves repeatedly.

Deadwing Dork's video on Cinematic Venom was a joy. Especially when it comes to CV's “takedown” of the LotR movies. Not the Hobbit trilogy; Lord of the Rings.

"MY HEAD DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A SODDING TIC-TAC."
Oh I'm sure there's plenty covering CV. This is just a part of a fairly long ongoing video regarding the stupid change the channel thing as a whole, from the perspective of a reasonable adult looking in on a moronic clusterfuck of emotionally stunted now middle aged children.

Just out of curiosity, does he have his own thread yet?

Chez Apocalypse was Lindsay's old site for her and her friends that she was doing while still technically part of Channel Autism. The League of Super Critics was a kind of amalgamation site where all sorts of online critics would have their videos posted to reach a larger audience. Except they fucked around and kept all the ad money without giving the critics what they were owed. And the worst, or best, part of it depending on your POV is that it was 100% legal the content producers couldn't get their videos removed from there.

As for the Porn Critic he did do a crossover with Mike J once which honestly was pretty funny. They reviewed a Flintstones porn.

He basically stopped after Water Power. I remember vividly Brad getting pissed in the Spoony forums at some guy (me) who called him the dude who reviews '70s porn. Just absolutely lost it over being accurately described.
It was a joke that he even said once when doing a crossover I think with Spoony where Spoony asks, "so how you doing" and Brad shrugs and says, "I review porn". It might have been the Caligula review.

Also I did like his review of A Clockwork Orgy but only because of all the Clockwork Orange comments he was making.

To expand on this, when Maker bought Blip, they approached a bunch of people about enhancing their productions and promoting them through Blip as a mutually beneficial arrangement. A second Cinema Snob movie, refurbishing the TGWTG website, shows with Rooster Teeth, and others. One of the deals put in place was that Blip would set up a youtube channel, The League of Super Critics, and would take videos from Blip creators, post them on youtube, and the original content creator would get higher revenue on Blip, along with a smaller percentage from YT. Since at that point Blip was paying out way more than YT, a bunch of people like Doug, Lindsay and Brad went for it.

And then Disney bough Maker and all of the deals fell through unless they were already in production, which is why The Gauntlet from Rooster Teeth happened. Disney refused to honor any of the promises made to the likes of Channel Awesome because they were just so beneath their notice that they didn't care about fucking them over. Even worse, when the Maker deal was signed, it was for three years, meaning they all had to contribute to the Super Critics channel for two more years for pennies or get in trouble, but Disney didn't have to fulfill their side of the deal because, if I remember correctly, nothing promised was actually in their contracts.

Despite this, many of them shilled hard for Disney afterwards. Not as bad as Moviebob, but you'd think they were still getting paid by the mouse.
