Erica Garner — whose father Eric Garner became a symbol of police brutality when he died after being placed in a chokehold—was in a coma Sunday night after suffering a heart attack, family members said.

“So my sister had another heart attack last night and she’s in critical condition,” Erica’s sister Emerald Snipes wrote on Facebook.

Eric Garner’s daughter calls out Obama for slow investigation
“I just left the hospital and it’s not looking good…I pray she makes it she has two little ones to live for.”

Garner, 27, became an activist after her father’s untimely death in 2014.

The woman’s Twitter account asked supporters to pray for her.

This is her if you haven't seen her photo:

Didn't Eric Garner NOT die from the chokehold/cops on top of him, but rather in the ambulance afterwards due his tremendous health problems and because he chose to resist arrest like a tryhard thug. overexerting himself beyond what he should in his daily routine?

Somehow, some way, das racist tho. das rite.

My educated guess:
her family and friends were being obnoxious cunts and when the hospital staff had to do something important, they were getting in the way. The police was called to make them go away and eventually Erica died.

This forums autistic a-logging of black people aside.

I hope she's okay this is a shitty thing to happen to anyone let alone on Christmas.

Don't you think that maybe the black community should ask itself why cops feel the need to target its men in disproportionate numbers, and why so many of their encounters end in arrests and/or violence? Perhaps the guilty party here isn't the pigs. QFT:

Resisting arrest is ever a good idea. If the person being arrested does not think the arrest is just, the place to fight that particular battle is in a court of law, in front of a judge, and not in the street, in front of officers whose sole purpose is to take you to jail.

But yeah, picking on her just bc she was Garner's daughter is a shitty thing to do.

I don't know why you're tagging me in this tbh. The fuck has this girl done to deserve the A-logging? Biggest reason I can think of is because she's black and this forum is autistic as hell when it comes to people of different skin tones.

Niggas should all be shot and die heh heh = this thread.
Nah, really though, I think you might be thinking of Twitter and thinking of "white people should just die tbh". This threads been nice in comparison to the whitehate on there.

All this aside, she probably had the same heart condition her father had. Cardiomyopathy can happen at any stage in life - healthy or not. John Ilhan is a great example.

But you'd have to have the capacity of logical thought to understand that. If it wasn't this fantasy PD plot, it would have been how white doctors refused to treat her.

She's now officially brain dead, there are some articles on it.
Erica Garner, 27, slipped into a coma after her brain was starved of oxygen following a heart attack on Saturday, just days before Christmas, the New York Daily News reported.

Garner's mother revealed the extent of her condition Thursday.

“She’s not gone; she’s brain dead,” Esaw Snipes said. “Physically she is still with us.”

News of her condition carried the tragic connection of her father's death. Garner emerged as a fiery critic of the NYPD and police brutality after Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo killed her father in July 2014 using a chokehold—a technique the department had banned.

A person who identified themselves as a co-worker took over her Twitter account to keep the young activists 35,000 followers updated with new developments. On Wednesday, the co-worker announced Garner suffered severe brain damage.

"Cat scan shows Erica suffered major brain damage from a lack of oxygen while in cardiac arrest," the tweet read.

Eric Garner, 43, repeated the phrase "I can't breathe" 11 times as Pantaleo tried to take him into custody for selling loose cigarettes. A camera recorded the officer wrap his arm around the father of four's throat until Garner's body went limp.

Public reaction to Garner's death contributed to the mounting national outrage of police brutality and helped foment the Black Lives Matter movement. It also spurred Erica Garner into activism. She became a prominent civil rights leader, met President Barack Obama in 2016 and appeared in an ad endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders for president.

The younger Garner—who, like her father had asthma—only recently learned she had another medical condition. Doctors told her she had an enlarged heart when she suffered a heart attack four months ago after giving birth to her son, whom she named after her father, the Daily News reported. The pregnancy is said to have put too much stress on her heart.

The most recent heart attack was triggered by an asthma attack, relatives told the newspaper.

Garner's Twitter account has become a place for people around the country to share their prayers for and memories of her over the past several days.
