Like I said in the A&N thread the best way for Elon to dunk on NASA would be to deliver a lander and a actual moonshot plan. Not this screeching on social media. Hell, he could just announce a plan to have a moonshot ready and it would be better than this.

He values control above all else, my guess is that it stems from him being ousted from the original X.com and later PayPal back in the 90s. He turned down what would've been a multi-billion dollar stake in OpenAI cos the board wouldn't give him control of the org. Then, when OpenAI blew up he threw a shitfit and sharted a lolsuit at them.
