So the way it reads Elon was scheduled in a planner but then nothing was mentioned afterwards. Its possible he did attend the island and this planner didn't note that event. Sort of like you or I writing "buy more eye bleach" on our things to do list. I was thinking about it and if starlink becomes ubiquitous and smartphones become advanced enough and they can use starlink instead of 5G or whatever then I guess it's possible that starlink could seriously steal significant numbers of customers from normal phone companies at some point.

Basically: Musk/starlink could become extremely fucking rich. I haven't looked into the figures but you're talking about possibly poaching customers from Comcast, Vodafone and some major players if that becomes technically possible.

I'm not sure if that would work out technically in a year or two but it's definitely plausible to see happen within 5-10 years.

They're also saying that tweeter/X's payment network will launch this year - I'm not sure how that will pan out but will be interesting to see. I think also "X TV" was mentioned.

(I know this type of stuff isn't particularly typical "lolcow" discussion but I mention it to speculate on what his wealth/power may be in 5-10 years time).
