I feel like gay people are simply more likely to exhibit tranny tendencies.
We already see before trannyism was a major thing, that many Lesbians often dress pretty masculine and try to embody masculine tendencies.
Think of those butch lesbian bikers, or many Lesbians today who get those skinny fuckboy style hair cuts and dress in a skinny fuckboy type of way.

It Nolan wanted to be funny, he would make Elpenor 42% himself in the movie by making Elpenor drunk and purposefully kill herself because she "can't handle" being a tranny in this era so he can sneak in pretending to "support" them by pretending to make a commentary about them meanwhile the rest of us would be able to see the satire.

That's just the thing, they want that extra step because their trauma tells them men are offput by pooners, and they have ruined tomboyism by turning it into a fetish (hence why TIMs unironically want to be "tomboys" now more than actual women lol.)
