do you guys actually read or watch anything good? or do you just binge whats on the front page of crunchyroll with the most fan service?
Dude, your avatar is from Vagabond, which is generic shounen, but with older characters and good art.

so i have been reading this manga called Okaeri Alice.

View attachment 2398846
basically, nerdy guys childhood friend decided to become a trap and is seducing him for the lulz. the intresting part is the third party, the girl who had a crush on the trap and who the nerdy guy is having a crush on. shes dating the nerdy guy to get back on the trap but the trap keeps winning the nerdy guy over to his side and it makes her cope and seeth like nothing else. its hilarious but i cant shake the feeling it will end in a triple murder suicide.

if you are an incel who hates women, this is for you.
nothing in this post doesn't piss me off

I work chiefly in sex offense investigations and today I had to sit through a meeting with a sex offender counselor who told a group of professionals about a new form of pornography called anime, and how it should be confiscated if any is found to be owned by a sex offender. According to her there is also an even newer form of anime called hentai, and it is all child pornography. She believed fully that hentai was and should be treated as child pornography and the grounds for an arrest.

After that the presentation veered off into roblox and VRChat being proxies for rapists to fondle kids online and rape their avatars. There was no shit a picture of Ugandan Knuckles in this presentation.

She was paid for this presentation and it was given to state and federal law enforcement officials. I do not have a better place to share this but I was so torn between wanting to break down laughing and being mad that it just validates my continued disdain of and suspicion of any so-called "experts" in any field.

Sorry to veer slightly off topic or power level but I think that is the only time I have ever heard anyone mention anime in my professional life and I have been hiding my immense weebdom for well over a decade at this point.
Sounds like that counselor is a feminist dyke.

Yeah, I'm well aware of that, as that's a common advice to give to writers when writing female protagonists. I don't know when that trend exactly started, though, since we've now seen what's become of female protagonists in Hollywood and how you can't criticize "strong women" anymore. While there's nothing wrong with escapism and having a role-model to look up to, dumbing everything down around her isn't the way to do it.
It started becoming mainstream probably between the release of Aliens and Terminator 2. Probably an oversimplification, but the 80s actually sees several heroines that are basically men but with eye-candy. In Ripley's case, she was originally written as a man for the first Alien film.

I think anime had done better at portraying female (specifically action) heroines at that time. Stuff like Bubblegum Crisis(although Priss is definitely the man of the group), Street Fighter II Victory with Chun-Li, CowboyBebop with that cunt Faye, etc.

I mean a lot of the shows discussed here aren't even on CR as far as I know, but I pirate everything so I have no idea about what's actually on there anymore.

Even in the first place 'good' anime is all subjective anyway once you filter out actual legit dogshit anime with poor production at every level. Doesn't really matter what a bunch of faceless nobodies think about the series or what it "says about you" for liking it if you find a show enjoyable. I'd say I'm watching good shows since I'm enjoying my time watching them, though I still have the problem of sometimes forcing myself to finish a series even if I stop enjoying it when I get too far into it.

Last season Moriarty Part 2 was honestly probably my favorite of the season and my AOTS because it was just so enjoyable for me as it hit a lot of my interests. I would assume many would disagree, which I don't mind since I understand there's a lot that I personally enjoyed that might have turned others off.

I respect you enjoy what you enjoy I was wonder mostly because a lot of people discuss what I see as sub-par anime and manga

It just strikes me as weird a guy with an avatar from a relatively mainstream manga made fun of people who watch mainstream anime.
you know Miyamoto was a real guy right? I like the real samurai philosopher, not just the manga version. I use a pfp that I think looks cool, you still haven't answered my question 2 other people have perfectly explained they enjoy what they enjoy and I respect that but you seem to be holding onto this idea of mainstream media when i was wondering why you consoom shitty anime

If you come into a thread and ask confrontational questions don't be surprised when you're treated like a drive-by troll

I'm surprised how much of a pussy you gotta be to not just say i like what i like when 3 other people have done it

Oh great one, please enlighten us with your vastly superior taste in fucking Japanese cartoons!

There’s literally nothing faggier than anime elitism and nobody here cares if you think they have shit taste.

Goblin Slayer I always viewed as a D&D inspired show where it's basically following a campaign with several reoccurring characters as they adventure through the world, through that lens I found the show very enjoyable. Added layer if at some points it feels like a sadistic DM wanting to mess with his players by throwing dumb shit at them and seeing what they do. Feels like the author was also inspired by that feeling. For example, Goblin Slayer feels like a veteran player that knows how to play in a way that feels like it's outside the rules in his usage of skills or items, but never actually outside of them so the DM can't actually punish him (much to the frustration of the DM for making easy work out of a boss fight). Healer Girl started out playing rigidly inside the expected path making it easy for a DM to create killer situations, but by joining up with Goblin Slayer she began to think outside of that box making it a lot harder to 'trap' her into no-win situations.

Heard the books weren't bad either and I'm kind of sad they'll probably never animate the part where Healer Girl apparently goes into the woods to fight bears and other monsters by herself, along the way learning how to kill with her abilities that pisses of her patron god enough for her to tell her off for using her healing to harm. I heard anons talk about it in discussion of the series and it sounded interesting and also entirely like a loophole a player would try to use before the DM would step in.
This was how I went into it too. The show is really enjoyable from the view of "This is a D&D campaign". The only thing I really disliked was the shitty CG they used only on GS for no reason and always looked clunky and bad.

The reason you see a lot of "what's on the front page of CR" is probably because we talk about current seasonal anime which I would assume CR would push since it's going to be the most popular. Unfortunately the current flavor of most seasons seems to be generic harem self-insert isekai, and episode 250 of MHA and Boruto.

See, that’s the thing - I don’t fucking follow seasonal anime because I think it’s like 90% trash.

The difference is I’m not a fucking faggot who thinks that makes me better than someone who does.
it doesnt make me better when i was born better
