During the early stages of our movie night, we would run old 1960s drive-in commercials between movies as 15 minute intermissions. One day, someone put a copy of Jim Henson's Redbook. This was the first we ever saw Kermit as a psychopath murderer. It became an in-joke as we spammed forums with advertisements for the non-existent coffee. It's really more of a public service than a forced meme - like "holy shit, did you know this exists?"

I remember watching a few Youtube video compilations of the Wilkins commercials. It really was funny as fuck to watch Kermit as a fucking psycho who just straight up murdered Wontkins over not drinking coffee.

We were all taken back by the sheer brutality. To think something like that was cool in the 1950s. Now days those commercials would be banned.

One of the Wilkins spots I remember spit-taking at was one where Wilkins/Kermit asks Wontkins about drinking the coffee. Wontkins of course says he doesn't, and Kermit point blank shoots Wontkins with a gun, then friggen points the gun at the camera and is all "So what about you mother fuckers? Do *you* not drink Wilkins too?"

Just like "....Is fucking Kermit threatening to shoot the viewing audience too? Fucking gangsta as fuck..."
