It's a card based battle system that could just be replaced by a RNG dice role, since unlike other card based battle systems you can't get new cards or build you deck.

I'm also getting tired of these like 5 minute lets plays of these games, I get that it's an indie thing to be like "we're not like the big guys, here's some ACTUAL gameplay!!!!" but it's just getting annoying now
