These people are fucking boring, but I could listen to people like John Carmack talk about game tech that I barely understand for hours. These people are just charisma vacuums.
John Carmack actually has talent and didn't just make his games in a premade engine with purchased assets

Not to mention, those games were made for actual men (aka, those who are most likely to play games). Case in point:
This is the art for Wolfenstein 3D:

BJ kicking Nazi ass and taking names.

This is the art for the "modern" Wolfenstein:

The same BJ, kneeling like a little bitch before YASSS KWEEEN Nazi, because we can't have *gasp* a man hitting a woman!

There is no better comparison between past gaming and modern gaming.

New Order and Old Blood were pretty good, since Old Blood had a lot of references to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and New Order was legit them jumping the shark even more than the 2009 game.

A guy in the youtube chat had a great point: these devs have an unprecedented amount of development tools at their disposal and this is the shit they choose to make.

Modern tools and technology but they choose to make games from several decades ago...
The best tools can't make you creative or innovative I guess.
