I'd say I miss what it once was but even as a kid I remember early E3s not being all that great. I think I saw more previews for games I was excited for on X-Play than anything else. From 2009 onward its only value has been memes and other shit to laugh at.

Like the point of games is to play them, E3 was just a huge advertisement. It didn't help with the main activity of playing the games themselves. It was an extra thing like an appendix, you remove it and nothing really changes.

Besides I'm pretty sure you're old enough to get your own girlfriend/wife rather than just wishing for one and looking for outside sources like media to provide you with a sexual release.

As I mentioned, there's a metric shit load of photos of E3 to be found on Flickr.

Which gives you some idea of what it was like.
 
E3 died for me when gaming companies started doing the thing of:
"Heres a preview of our game"
*pre-rendered movie with no gameplay plays*
*audience sounds like theyve collectively cum their panties*
The only entertaining thing was jim and others shitting on it while streaming it
 
The internet and changes in culture began the slow death of E3 because its far cheaper to announce your games on livestreams.

I think Covid was just the fatal blow. It was going to happen sooner or later.
