That's somewhat encouraging. Sony (West) has been crap for a long time now, and bringing them to heel under Sony Japan is necessary. I think it comes from being so dominant that they don't try at anything anymore.

They're planning on making TV shows about their IPs to help promote their games. It's also extending to anime because they're funding the Legend of heroes TV series.

Effectively it's a pretty big risk they're taking with all of this. Something like this hasn't been done since the late 80's or early 90's but it was never one this scale before.
