This happens every single time some bleeding heart whitey brings it up and I love it

The Metroid Prime announcement was just a fucking name, who cares. It didn't even have a release year. Same with the Pokemon announcement, I mean did you think they weren't? I'm a Nintendo fan and even I think the WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOing over what amounts to a logo is ridiculous. I don't even think they had Retro's name on screen, you people have no idea who is making the game (and even if it is them, most of the Prime 1 and 2 team leads have since left the company, etc.) That Mario footage on the other hand, oh man thats some hot shit. Kirby and Yoshi are good surprises too, even though I have zero interest in playing a Yoshi game.

I think Ubisoft preformed slightly better than Nintendo but then I give credit to them for things like getting what looks to be a set in stone plan for BGE 2, their piracy game and changing Assassin's Creed up- which most people see to not give a damn about for some reason. None of the others did anything at this E3 and Scorpio has nothing close to a killer app, that thing is going to flop after six months of no games with noticeable improvements.

I love how terrible Sony's VR section was. It was the most mind-boggling games to showcase at a major event for VR. Like seriously, Final Fishing? Fucking THIRD PERSON games in VR? Are they legitimately retarded and don't know how to apply VR in fun ways? Fuck, even that modern military shit looked terrible. What the fuck Sony?

I think people are just happy that Other M is at long last not going to be what the series is remembered for.

I've had the Mario Oddessy theme on loop for like 6 hours and I haven't even come close to getting tired of it
I know no one will agree, but this song alone makes Niny the winner of E3 tbh.

New Metroid

By the guys who brought us Clive Barker's Jericho and God of War but Worse

yay

Kinda amazing they get to fuck up both Meroid and 'vania.

I'm glad to see the Katamari Damacy singers are still getting work.
Thanks for reminding me how much I want to play a new Katamari game...

Anyway, outside of Wolfenstein, this entire conference year has been a bit of a bust for me. I mean, yeah I'm stoked for Metroid Prime 4, but considering it's Nintendo, we're not gonna be playing it until 2019 at the earliest. Evil Within 2 also looks promising, but I'm not totally invested in the series yet.

This year was pretty much just just above boilerplate for me. Nothing from EA caught my attention, Microsoft was ehhh okay, but not totally convinced to buy a $500 mega-machine. And despite the previously mentioned titles, Bethesda's conference was a fucking joke. Ubisoft was interesting, but I vehemently don't trust Ubisoft anymore with anything. The reveal of BGE2 was cool, but as soon as the presenters started talking, I realized this wasn't Ubisoft 2003 anymore, and we're never going to get resolution for the ending of the original game. Sony's conference was all sound and noise, signifying nothing. With the exception of MH2, nothing new was announced, it was all games we've heard of before. And Nintendo's conference was just bog-standard Nintendo, with the exception of them acknowledging Metroid is still a franchise (still no love for F-Zero of course...).

So overall... I dunno. I'm not upset by any of it, but overall just kind of wanting. There was barely any "WOW" this year, with the exception of BGE2, which Ubisoft promptly killed any excitement for me as soon as they started talking that it was going to be an "MULTI-ETHIC, MUTLI-CULTURAL open multiplayer PREQUEL." Can't wait for them to announce a $40 season pass for the game, pre-order now for an additional 30 minutes of gameplay content!

See, and this is precisely what I hate now - the fact that I can't just fucking sit back and enjoy ANY FUCKING THING from E3 without every five minutes thinking, "Oh, I bet this will offend some failed abortion; can't wait to see them bitch about it on Twitter." Glad these people BTFO'd this eager-beaver, but I know there's probably another 2,000 lily-white fucknuts out there bending over backwards to fight against the offensiveness of sombreros.

The first Evil Within is trying to be like Resident Evil, Outlast and Silent Hill inside a shit sandwich. I felt like they threw everything at a wall and seeing what stuck and what didn't. I sure the second one will be more of the same.

I had lost all faith in Nintendo's handling of Metroid after the shitstains that were Other M and Federation Force. To go six years from a game that felt like an insult to what made the series great to a low-budget game that no one asked for (especially stung since it released so close to the 30th anniversary) was simply astounding.

After the news that transpired today, that faith is being restored, and I will consider getting a Switch as a secondary console in the future. To see places like Reddit's Metroid community go from constant pessimism to total elation is a hell of a site. Kudos, Nintendo.
