Did Atlus say anything about there being a showing of P5 at E3?
Nah, but considering it's a pretty heavy hitter for Sony, a crowd pleaser and landing this year it seemed like a no brainer. maybe saving it for the TGS?

That Shenmue Kickstarter had a $10.000 tier for Ryu's jacket, gone already lol.

Elephant in the room? No Persona 5.

It dipped in the latter half, no need for so much Creed, COD, or Lucasarts when Sony have plenty of their own stuff to show.

In essence, the third-party support made the presentation worse. I would have moved Uncharted 4 to the front of the presentations to put it out of the way quickly because it offered essentially more of the same like Gears of War 4 and Halo.

I already said CoD's presentation was the low-point of Microsoft conferences, and Sony's debut was no exception. The presenter seemed to hype up stuff that gamers have already played countless times before. "Now you can choose which weapons to use before the start of each game and they will affect your playing experience" - What, you mean like loadouts? Like Black Ops 2? Like Spec Ops on the PSOne back when I was still in primary school?

Who else thinks Shenmue Kickstart evil reach a million in less than 24 hours?
I just checked.... they're already at 690K in like... an hour? At this rate, they're gonna have this game FUNDED by midnight.

But yeah... overall the Sony conference was impressive for the spectacle of it all... but the fact is this: Shenmue 3 is gonna be released on PC at this rate. FF7 was a CGI teaser and we all know how long it takes Square to get ANYTHING done for a Final Fantasy game. And yeah, it's nice to know the Last Guardian exists and... it doesn't look that impressive to be honest. Sorry, doe-eyed griffin-dogs don't do it for me.

My ratings thus far:

Bethesda: A-
Sony and Microsoft: B+
Ubisoft: B
EA: C-

I disagree, driving a jeep through lots of destructible terrain is pretty new for Uncharted, and visually it was stunning.

DESTINYFAG MOMENT: GO

Three new subclasses. Solar-based Titan that wields a FLAME HAMMER, Void-based Hunter that uses a VOID LONGBOW, and an Arc-based Warlock that calls down LIGHTNING STORMS. The upcoming DLC Covers Oryx, who is none too pleased about the Guardians kicking his son in the balls and breaking his back and making him humble. It's rumored that this is what led to the Cabal coming to the Oirign system - not as invaders, but because they're fleeing the fucking Hive.

Just my opinion, but I honestly wasn't expecting P5 to be shown at the main Sony conference. While the Persona series is really popular right now, I still think it's kind of a niche series and I just don't see it being put up right next AAA games like COD, Uncharted or even a FF game.

Based on your sperging, your avatar, and your previous motto, I calculate an 83% chance, that you like Destiny.

On another note, has the game got any better from the grindfest it used to be? Is it worth playing through the last two expansions for this third one?

No gravity rush or vita?.
Fuck you sony,I'm not buying your hyped crap to be discontinued in 2 years .
I liked the last guardian and uncharted, but no enough for me to really wish a ps4,expected gran turismo teaser or something,I liked microsoft's conference better.
Also I predict a massive Sony fanboy orgasm about a game no one will buy after launch(last guardian).

Switch around Bethesda and Microsoft/Sony and I'd agree with that. Bethesda had only 3 games I was interested in (Fallout 4 and Doom 4 got the most of my attention, Dishonored 2 was just a CG trailer, but I'm glad they're making a sequel.) Also, I'd rate Ubi and EA a very solid D+ (Unravel looked cool, but all of the SPORTS was a bore. Ubisoft just made me cringe mostly, but I thought some games looked okay)

[EDIT]:

It's gotten way better, mostly because the House of Wolves expansion essentially un-fucked everything. You can be Level 27 with just rares (blue level items) now. You can re-roll abilities of weapons and armor for a chance at better. You can exchange ascendant materials for a mere 50 Glimmer (say you get Ascendant Shards, but need Energy - you can trade one for the other at the Speaker). Xur is no longer needed to ascend items. The rare Etheric Light item can turn fucking any Legendary into an end-game viable death machine. None of the new Legendaries or Exotics require leveling up defense/attack now, nor do they need planetary/ascendant/radiant materials.

This isn't what I or really any veteran fan of Destiny expected to happen, because of how badly they fucked things up with The Dark Below.

You can get level 34 (the current cap) entirely through Legendary gear which is relatively straightforward to get. Seriously, the game is 9 billion times less tedious now (though still rather grindy), with legit new content and interesting developments in the plot. If you weren't a fan of Destiny's better sides before, these changes won't thrill you, but if you liked them but were turned off by some of the game's shortcomings, then you might wanna give it a whirl. You don't need the DLC to check out the new equipment levels and some of the items.

I guess I'll check it out then. I had a pre-Dark Below max-level Warlock, but the endgame didn't seem very enthralling at the time. Combat was pretty fun, but tedious without Crucible involvement.

Bethesda's E3 was not as good as either Sony's or Microsoft's imo, and I'm not at all surprised - they don't have the benefit of a console and a pile of different developers' games to attribute all the fun to, but Doom was relatively decent and Fallout 4 was the highlight of their presentation.

As mellow as Sony's conference was, I'll probably be getting a PS4 to complement my XBone anyway, purely for Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, and Kingdom Hearts 3 for the significant other. Unless Street Fighter V is completely rejected by the FGC and reverted back to USF4, which is extremely unlikely. Ono would have to intersperse fights with QTEs and flashes of him masturbating to deter the community from adopting it the instant it comes out.

Crap, I took a nap and slept through everything. :(

Time to go hunt down some videos I guess.

God damn dirty work getting in the way of my future vidyas.

Oh well twitch will replay everything for a week so maybe I can catch up.

Horizon: Zero Dawn looks pretty cool!

Concept looks pretty cool. I just hope Guerilla Games has hired someone better for their story, because Killzone's biggest failure has always been its plot.

Guerilla Games has historically had amazing visual designs and atmosphere/premise, but their stories have always left a lot to be desired.

[UPDATE]: The XBox 360 backwards compatibility is essentially an XBox 360 emulator (probably an app) that will play those games as they are enabled over time. It will allow only 360 achievements to be saved, but essentially everything from the 360 - friends, achievements, chat, etc. - will be accessible, though no real details on whether previously downloaded GwG will carry over. So basically, a virtual 360 on your XBox One that can use XBox One features.

It sounds like the games - owned or not - will need to be downloaded onto the XBox One HDD to be played, but inserting a 360 disk will be recognised if the game is in their catalogue and will be free. The emulator won't accept USB peripherals (arcade sticks are a no-go, I presume :( ), and the original Kinect isn't compatible, but the catalogue will be gradually expanded, and "really the only thing that stops us is getting the legal permissions for stuff like licenses that may have changed over time or whatever the case may be".

Most of the first-party lineup will be enabled first, followed by feedback from sources such as voting systems, fan favourites, popular games still played on the 360, etc.

> Taken from an XBox preview video with Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) and Bill Stillwell (XBox Platform Team).

Since I didn't own a 360 at the time of its ongoing compatibility releases, I don't know if this is what they said they'd do before, but they'll want to do a good job on this if they want to remain in the good graces of the public and generate more XBox One sales.

[UPDATE UPDATE]: Felt like this is partially relevant:

Microsoft was very dumb to put halo 5 gameplay on YouTube instead of showing it on stage.
People are gonna say they barely showed it,despite having a 6 min campaing gameplay on their channel.
