which is why I am confused why there is a third one.
There is currently no other zombie franchise that is combining parkour+combat. Also the first game made you play as the night hunter. This is a small gap in the market that only dying light is fulfilling, I think the parkour is pretty good and I've had fun getting chased at night by volatiles and barely escaping with various parkour skills.

So it is just Dead Island with parkour, got it. Still not interested, and I am not hearing anybody talking about the third game either.
 
The damn grab mechanic is the worst part of this game and I pray it gets patched out or someone mods this shit. I am so fuckin annoyed being grabbed all the time
They do grab a lot, however Kyle actually remembers most of his old moves from the first game.

They're still a lot more dangerous than the last games it feels like, and you later unlock instant escape from grapples, don't remember the level, think it was 8.

this 3rd game isnt exactly a masterpiece. Will it blow up and go viral like silksong? no. Is it a cool zombie game and better than 2? the community seems to think so. Should you wait for bug fixes and a sale? probably.

Yeah that shit is starting to piss me off, especially combined with the stamina draining fast.
They have to nerf the reach the zombies have. Even if I kick them first, the game decides that they should grab me.
 
I like it so far, but holy shit there's too many shitskin women and pavement ape niggers.

The whole magic negro schtick is so fucking tired already. It's the end of the world and it's nothing but niggers that survived? They would've either eaten all each other or buttfucked themselves to death since all niggers are gay.

I found a way to cheese your way to a volatile kill or five from an early level, all you gotta do is get control over the camping tower near the cabins at Castor Woods, crank out molotovs and have a decent supply of gun ammo and stand on the lower wooden platform near the ground, none of the volatiles can get up to attack you because the UV light coverage covers the platform meaning you can bait them into running under the tower, chuck molotovs and shoot at them when they stop for a moment to check things before the UV hits them.

More or less the same deal in the second game. It's easiest with a watch tower because you're not forced to disarm, but you can whittle down volatiles by dancing in and out of UV light to get them stuck in a loop of trying to attack you. After farming enough kills, you can get 150 damage throwing knives that down volatiles with two headshots.

All the more reason not to incentivize combat by tying upgrades to enemy kills. Also I said it in another thread I'm pretty sure, but all the lite RPG mechanics just shouldn't be there. The push to pump up numbers takes focus away from the games' core strengths and cheapens the combat. Removing these systems would pretty much immediately make the game better while losing nothing. You might argue that without loot, there would be little incentive to do side quests, but the framework for a better alternative is already there; just tie them into the existing faction development system. Do more jobs for a faction, and they offer you more perks and services.

And besides, I don't need a tooltip to inform me that a katana does more damage than a rusty knife.

it depends on the year and how refugees were handled. The racial makeup that ive seen so far is not representative of real life from what i know.

Part of me thinks that in the case of this kind of virus things would be locked down and countries wouldnt open up for fear of importing the virus.
 
This game is a flawed gem, very good but full of annoyances, none really outstrip how fun it is to do the things you expect, run around, collecting bits and bobs and punting zombies off buildings, and this time around Hulking out as a very 80's action star shlocky way.

Buddy all nations on earth got completely fucking wiped out in less than 2 years after DL1, turns out stuff like Volitiles are just not something normal troops would be ready for since all military deployments would be to increasingly large outbreak areas and once night hits all hell breaks loose, there wouldn't be time for lockdown procedures in Europe, I have no idea how this spread through America but Eurasia was completely boned.

Likely more heavily-armed communes that still would've gotten boned because all it takes is one retard to hide they were infected. In-game that would be just mean more guns for a player to pick up.
 
I completed the main story and I have to say: Props for Crane being a somewhat competent main charachter, not too annoying speech wise, But the ending was the most kick in the balls boring ass writing style they could of think of. I will not spoil it for the kiwis here going through it.

I am a big fan of zombie games but this project just lacks any kind of soul. No npc even in the mainquest looks somewhat memorable. Theres like maybe 6 zombie types in the overworld to fight. Speaking off, don’t even bother exploring and finding cool stuff outside off the map because everything that even seems remotely interesting like locked doors and hatcheds are tied to main/sidequests.

The leveling system is strange. You got zones that range to level 1,6 and 11. With the main story tied to that. Until the end wich you need level 13. With alot of healing and brute force you can still beat it.

The game has a shit ton of bugs and glitches ( I played on ps5). Like clutter being placed in midair and quests bugging for you to restard. There was a late game quest in the asylum where an allie had to calm all the zombies for you to sneak through. It was bugged for me so i had to kill them all. It would have not been so bad if it. Wasn’t filled with 10 volatiles, I actually had to switch the difficulty to “story” bc i was almost softlocked.

Also the “darkzones” wich are cool at first are all just lazy reskins of eachother. Like the pharmacy and the tool store sharing the same layout.

Overall I would say this game gets a 6/10 from me but that’s only bc i like the music alot. It reminds me of 28 days later.

I hope my autisitc review makes some people think before they spend 70 euros on this game. Tbh I rather buy 15 mins of hookers for that money.
 
No where near being done but it feels like the first one, but done shittier. I think it's worth picking up at a discount, but there's several nuances with choices in the gameplay are pretty fucking stupid.

Such as zombie grabs taking priority of releasing the charged attack at the same time.

The fact that this sentiment is the best you can hope for in the current gaming market is sad. I'll just skip buying the game and play DL1 as usual.
Maybe there are enough retards with open wallets that Techland can afford to make another attempt at an actually good DL game.

Gaming is so fucking bad anymore. It's not fun. It's lazy. And there's niggers everywhere.
