I keep having the urge to play it but man, every other quest doesn't work, either because the npcs bug out or the quest overlaps another and I have to literally carry the npc there. I don't crash as much as I used to but it never just flows to the point I can play for 4 hours in a row.
I've been replaying the game the last few days and have not encountered a single bug outside of one quest where a guard says "follow me" and then doesn't move, but she was just there to show me to a place she escorted me to on another quest already. If you're on PC you don't have any old mods or anything installed do you?

how much different/better is Dragon's Dogma 2 from when it launched?
Runs a lot better without denuvo, 6 skills instead of 4, can turn off pawns walking up to you and advertising themselves without a mod and a couple other basic QOL features. There's some weird NPC pop-in that's probably related to some performance fixes and only seems to effect random NPCs and not so much quest/vendors.
I don't know about any bug or gameplay changes/fixes but I've been having fun replaying the game again.

Played a bit of the DLC on Hard mode. its no joke. Even equipped with end game gear at level 70, one normal bandit took a third of my health with one hit. Tanking hits are no longer an option.

I suggest @Rick The Stick to stay away.
I haven't played the game since launch. Am I better off Just making a new character and refreshing myself on everything then starting the DLC?

Same happened to me, level 65, until I got some decent DLC gear.
Now I'm level 132 and I did zero grinding of any kind, the enemies just give so much XP on hard mode in the DLC it's insane, snowfoot (ogres) gave 99k experience.

I've also unlocked transmog which is basically near the end of the DLC story, the weapons are class restricted but for armor it seems you can mix and match all you want, can't transmog capes though which might sound dumb, but DLC capes have more stats and almost all of them cover shoulders.

Just got this game for the switch 2 port, and man was i pleasantly surprised. Never even heard of the game and that in came out in 2015.

Idk if they modernized some of the features, but this game holds up really well with some of today's games/elden ring etc. Was even ahead of its time in some aspects, I like how they let you focus on upgrading just one perma pawn, and let you just constantly fill in the rest with new pawns as you rank up. The online aspect reminds me of a more in depth version of how elden ring treats online interactivity.

Traveling at night and not over relying on warp is a nice common ground to not abusing the eternal ferrystone you now get in the current game. Some runs are just unnecessarily annoying so I warp, but for the most part the best aspect of the game is trying to bumrush it home because a troll is on your tail. 9/10 (so far).

Been playing for almost a week. Now im level 150 and that's just from killing. Hard mode gives you so much exp, Just killing a group of bandits or a yeti made you level up. The new gear are not so strong in of itself but the new skills that come with it is were they truly shine. Some of the new skills are outright broken. The warrior guard/counter is such a game changer. I do like Norgan as an area. its all about survival and knowing when and where you need to go and making sure you survive the trip. the snow storms stop you from fast traveling and blinds the map so if your in a bad spot, you can teach your pawn a skill that lets you find near campsites so you can wait out the storms. Snowfiled is the worst in that regard since it always snows up there. God help you if you traveling during the night since bosses can just creep up on you out of nowhere and attack you in groups. There many times where i had to run away just to survive the night. There trolls that steals your stuff and run away with it back to their lair so you have to track them down if you want it back.
