I don't know what you're talking about. The saurians DO scurry back away from you trying to keep you from hitting their tails, they're extremely tanky if you don't cut their tails off, and when you target the tail, you get a really meaty hit sound effect telling you you're hitting the weak point. Everything you're complaining about here not being present in the game is present in the game.
You're misunderstanding my post or I'm not being clear.

I mean once you cut the tails off of the Saurians in DD1, they scurry extremely fast on their bellies with this weird skittering SFX. Sometimes you have to chase them for a few yards. They just don't do it in this game. I also don't notice when they lose their tails since there was an emphatic SFX in the OG game but it just seems like they fall off in DD2.

Nah, I'm refunding this dogshit game. Ignoring the performance issues and MTX, it is unfinished and unpolished. It's ugly. It's boring.

People who think this game is acceptable didn't play the first one or are deaf, dumb, and blind.

They are pretty helpless after you cut their tails, but it seems to me that before you cut their tails they are way more difficult to get behind, almost impossible without having them aggro'd to a pawn. It isn't as obvious when you do get the cut, but I find that getting the cut is absolutely something I have to consciously focus on and pay attention to.
The feedback is more subdued, but it isn't absent.

The really funny part is...this launch is basically a near 100% repeat of the the first Dragons Dogma on the Xbox 360. The frame rate issue, the MTX, it was all there. It was just that people really fell in love with Dragons Dogma with the release of Dark Arisen on Steam which didn't have any framerate issue (and more powerful hardware could handle it), most of the bugs were fixed, the DLC added some great contented, and the MTX was removed.

So all of this is just par for the course.

Yeah even in DD1 the samee exact shit happens. Are people just pretending to play DD1 or thought BBL was the norm?

For my part, I considered buying DD1 when it first came out but decided to save my money because it was console only and letterboxed. I bought it when it came out on Steam in early 2016 and yep, it ran with no problems on a 2500K with an R9 290, and you could sell the starting items and never want for gold the rest of the game. As for the soundtrack, I remember people bitching because the OG title screen music was this glorious monstrosity.

@Tri-TachyonRepresentative Try as they might the Japs are never going to figure out the PC.....no matter how much more money they make on it. At least Sony leashed out a bunch of Swedes to make Hell Divers 2 and that is going gangbusters for them.
They still fucked it up with the anti-cheat they included. Considering that's where most of the major issues stem, not too shabby that the anti-cheat is where the worst of it lies.

"THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEEEEEEEE", call me a weeb but I genuinely liked it. What's silly is how people suddenly starting praising this song more after DDDA started getting traction relatively recently. In fact the meme is what set off the sudden rise in popularity. Not to be one of those faggots who go "I was here first", but it's funny to me how people, especially /v/, started suddenly jerking the game off. But to be honest, I haven't seen anyone complain about this song before.

I'm leaning towards yes, or at least they just started playing but act like they've been around since before Dark Arisen. I've seen many people act like that for all manner of games. It's the idea of feeling included with veterans while wanting to be superior those to "newfags" while being a newfag themselves.

Thinking back, it might have just been Razorfist shitting on the game for being Japanese and having a J-Rock intro theme. They did change it in Dark Arisen though.

And as far as the oldfag/newfag stuff, the OG release was in 2012, and Dark Arisen came out on Steam in 2016. There's more time between the Steam release and now than there was between the OG release and the Steam release. I'm not ashamed of having passed on the game originally. Around 2012 there was a lot of competition in the market for fantasy RPGs, and now there is very little.

Still my favorite character creation anybody has done. @AnsemSoD1 I think you'll like this one too.

I'm apparently pretty close to finishing the main story but I've put 50 hours into the game.
Overall I think it's fun, bogged down by poor optimization and dog shit DRM compounding on it giving it a terrible reputation.
I do have a few other issues with the game.

-Random pawns talking to you while traveling, why? I didn't press B on them I ran 10 feet around them and sometimes it just stops you in your tracks so some retarded meme character can tell you he will sell your loot if you want.
-Pawns saying they have no quest knowledge, so what? I don't look for pawns that will hold my hand through fairly obvious quest markers and I don't need them constantly suggesting I hire one that does.
-Dragon AIDS in general is very stupid, it's easy to notice but the downside if you don't results in dozens of dead NPCs, plus it's just annoying to deal with when you need to scratch your whole party and dump your pawn in a river just to be safe.
-Warfarer is just underwhelming, you can't use any maister/ultimate skills as far as I know, and if I can't Arc of Might an enemy for 90% of it's total health why would I want to be an inferior warrior with a bow skill? It's only positive is that you can use whatever armor you want I guess.
-The Sphinx """"""riddle"""""" where you have to remember where you looted your first seeker's token is beyond retarded, putting a time limit doubly so and I have no qualms about using a mod to make a vendor sell me a finder's token to complete it.

I would also highly suggest using a save manager, I use this one and I'm glad I did. I was doing a mainstory quest to talk to someone, I reached their location and decided to take a ladder up the building to look for loot, but apparently her "real form" was up there and I "solved a puzzle" and she disappeared without telling me what I needed to know, and the quest didn't update, and I had no way of talking to her even after resting for a few days seeing if she would respawn.

Me and my friends who got the game are enjoying it, we've been lucky enough to have computers that run it without chugging outside of main cities but our hardware should be able to handle the game better than it currently is especially when I turn the graphics down a decent amount.

Hopefully they get their heads out of their asses and remove denuvo, they don't need the anti-cheat either as the original game could already detect invalid pawn stats and ban your pawn from being hired it should be simple to do again. I'm sure capcom paid for a few months of it but it would improve community perception and probably let more people run the game above a chunky 20 FPS.

Bitterblack Isle's random loot was so ridiculous I just cheated the weapons I wanted in. Really fun when you could actually hurt the walking bricks that were the bonus enemies.
and synth just grabbed the sphinx's tits
you could improve your drop chance depending what class you and your pawn played. say if you and your pawn were warriors, you would get higher chance of getting warrior/fighter gear.

I was playing Magic Archer trying to get the bow so my chances were infinitely worse.
Edit: clarification.

So they're adding in 99 Arts in before fixing the main problem? But seriously, I bet they're working on it now but this is a shit update.

So starting my NG+ and I'm already burned out, there isn't any real reason to do NG+ besides maybe redoing quests for XP but with how shit quests are, its not worth it.
