How many kidneys will it cost me to have your specs?
Just one.

lol.
Brand name.
Dragon's Dogma is one of the most overrated one-game brands I have ever seen. /v/ and /vg/ really love it for some reason.
Yes, it's going to sell no matter what. Capcom fanboys and retarded /v/irgins that have been waiting for this game for over a decade will ensure that. I'm already seeing cope from them left and right.

Disagree on the Capcom shills part. I have no fond memories of 95% of Capcoms library. I really just like DD.

I love it when people mention his old porn name, bonus points if you link a video, makes Capcom shills seeth and apparently it's transphobic to mention a tranny's porn career. How in the f u c k did he become officially associated?
triva: those tits were paid for by a tunisian knifefighter who has a thread here

I was just watching some reviews for DD2 and man did this game turnout to be a piece of shit. LOL

A shitty Jap PC port like something you would have seen from their early to mid 2010's. It tells you to play with a controller because apparently the japs that made this pile of shit game didn't implement the keyboard and mouse control scheme well. Poor optimization. Just all around shitty game and tons of microtransactions. Providing more proof that slant eyes are just yellow Jews. Yes, you have you have to buy new save slots. That or you have to delete everything from your PC while being disconnected from Steam cloud.

They wined and dined all the hype fags on YouTube so they wouldn't tell people about how shitty the game is and all the microtransactions. You have to be careful about who you trust on YouTube for game reviews. These faggots are just as corrupt as the shitbag game reviewers from back in the magazine and website days.

I wasn't a huge fan of DD1 and I wasn't super hyped for this game. But it's going to be a pass from me. Having shitloads of DLC like that is bad enough. But it's not even fucking content. It's fucking save slots and shit like that. I often think the people who constantly complain about the state of video games these days are just being whiny faggots a bit. But I can see why they do it now. You have very little too look forward to. When something does come along it turns out be a hot pile of garbage.

I forgot another point. I saw a nigger knight in one of the reviews. A nigger in a game with a medieval European high fantasy setting. LOL

If this was a Western developer filled with SJW faggotry I would understand. But it's fucking Capcom. A Jap developer. WTF. LOL
It's because they contract all their coding to India.

A lot of people forget this but Poojeets aren't actually very smart. The average IQ in India is only around 85-87.

About 15 points lower than your average European/Asian.
Average for white people is 100. I think the average for East Asians is 110. Shit skins aren't very bright. Letting street shitters do the coding for games is a huge fucking mistake. They would be better off with AI.
Now I'm a bit retarded and out the loop, but am I understanding this correctly? There's one save file, you only get to make one character, that's your character forever, and can't delete your save through normal means? Also something about this "anti-tamper" I keep hearing about, would deleting your save from the folder trip that software and lock you out of the game? Are japs really just jews in disguise?
I have heard that. If you tamper with the save files for the game it triggers the anti-tamper software. For a fucking singleplayer game. It's just because they want to sell you save slot like a bunch of rice eating Jews.

Crapcom has gone completely woke some time ago, we first found out about it in their leaked internal memos. Ever since then, every single game of theirs has been pozzed and every single game onwards will be as well. They hired the spheretroon, true, but they also got actual drag queens doing marketing for them as well, it seems they've completely lost their minds and the USA branch is fully on board with this.
Posting this again for good measure, never forget what modern day Capcom stands for:
gay woke crapcom extended jpeg.jpg
This is only going to get worse from here, both game quality wise and games being more pozzed.

The game is out for 2 days and you made 90 000 RC already?!
Nigga, how?
Lots of friends.

Also everyone loves haste enchant boy with looting + item use.

AAAALSO it might be a bug. I tried to cap RC and something happened so when it last updated I saw like ~90k instead of 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999k

But I did see a report where my pawn got fucktons of RC. Like 20k.

The fashion is shit by the way. So far.

I have to admit that the game is fun even if it runs like shit. As for the cash shop, then that shit was since DD1. Not that I'm excusing it in any way, but I'm just surprised that people are really outraged by this when it was the case since DD1. https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Rift_Crystal_Bulk_Pack
Here's the thing; that cash shop was so widely hated, that they removed it entirely for the Dark Arisen version (aka the version most people played), and just added all the shit that you could buy there to your inventory at the start, along with giving you an eternal ferrystone for the purposes of allowing you to fast travel any time you wanted, because people complained about having to travel everywhere.

That's the issue; this game feels like a one step forward, two steps back deal through and through. Its like they unlearned all the lessons they learned from the first game, or simply forgot them. MTX store so asinine that you had to remove it because you realize everyone hated it? Add back in anyway? Pawn chatter so annoying in the first game that you gave people an option to outright remove it or at least lower its occurrence? Patently not give players any option to lower or remove pawn chatter at all. Character creation and customization are the most praised parts of the game, with the only criticism being the lack of choices in clothing and the inability to change your character and pawn's appearance at will till you bought a particular item in the post-game? Add a hard limit to the ability to change character appearance, remove the ability to make small characters at all, and remove clothing layer options, thus gimping customization even more. People complain about monotonous travel so much you give them an eternal ferry stone so that they can teleport as much as they want? Go back to using one use ferry stones and not giving players easy fast travel, because fuck them apparently. Save system so fucked that you only had one save file, couldn't save anywhere, and its possible to completely lose your save just by reinstalling the game. Keep that same save system and somehow make it worse by forcing people to go into the game files just to delete saves so that they could restart the game and make a new character.

It really does feel like Itsuno either learned nothing from his experience with the first game, or he took the wrong lessons from it. Its so bad, I almost feel like he shouldn't have been given the reigns to make this game, and new blood should have been put in charge. Its not quite as bad as what happened to Shenmue III, but I've lost faith in Itsuno going forward.

Okay I got my Graphic setting screenshots if that will help
These graphics settings about dovetail with mine in most ways. The only differences with mine are that:
  • My screen resolution is higher, at 1440, because that's the resolution of my monitor
  • Refresh rate is set to 164 Hz
  • Framerate is maxed at 120/4/6/whatever it is FPS
  • Rendering mode is interlaced
  • Image Quality is, I believe, directly in the middle
  • No Raytracing
  • Anti-Aliasing is TAA+FXAA
  • Mesh quality is either mid or high, can't remember which as I've changed it quite a bit and I'm not bothering to boot up the game right now.
  • Resource-intense effects quality is high
  • Bloom, lens flare, and lens distortion are all off
Right now, I get no real hiccups in towns, though there does appear to be slowdown, and the game runs well outside of them. I know I can lower one or two settings to get even better FPS. This wasn't the case when I started; even on the "low" settings, the game chugged once you got to the part where you were given control over your character, and I had to fiddle with the settings to get it to run smoothly. Haven't crashed once. No exact FPS readings to give you, though apparently the game can measure that? If I get that, I'll make a new comment noting it.

For reference, my GPU is a 1070 ti.

Again, not defending. However, it seems this time around the game is using a different engine. It's the RE Engine, right? Was that thing really designed for open world big ass amount of things? I wouldn't be surprised if everything is worse because they had start over from scratch.

Not sure. As you can probably tell by the name, Capcom originally developed it for their Resident Evil series, but they've essentially made their de jure in-house game engine since RE7.

I don't think I've seen it used for anything like this. So the way it works for NPCs and stuff might work for Resident Evil or Exoprimal, but definitely not for Dragon's Dogma or anything open world.

Faces always look weird in the RE engine to me. I can't put my finger on it, but the look of most characters always seems a bit off. Whether its here or in a newer RE game. They still use MT Framework for some projects, and I wish they'd just overhauled it and used that for DD2 instead. It's crazy how finely-tuned and versatile that engine is.

Still, I'm enjoying DD2 so far. Shamefully low FPS aside, it runs fine. Environments and monsters look nice. The quests have been enjoyable so far. Environmental physics are charming. Pawn AI is somehow more and less silly, which is a feature I like.

I'm not a fan of how much slower and unresponsive my character feels. There's that typical "realistic" lag where the character has to come to a halt before pivoting. It's not a dealbreaker, but it is a mite annoying.

Griffons seem to be fucking everywhere this time around.

Are chimeras cut? I watched Synth stream this for about ten hours and he fought probably twenty cyclops and a dozen ogres but no chimeras.

If I remember correctly chimeras were one of the common big/miniboss monsters in the original game.

day two of my adventure. started off the day by going to the market to enchant my new gear. then i turn around to see, A FUCKING CYCLOBS IN THE CAPITAL CITY, KILLING NPCS! nowhere is safe apparently since after killing the cyclops, i walk outside of town to find a Griffin killing Oxes in a farm. burned the fucker down and finally went on my quest.

what a weird way to start this day off.

i fought one in a cave. did not kill it.

Gotta be honest, I really hate the random live-action cooking-over-a-fire videos they shoehorned into the camping sequence. It's really immersion-breaking especially cuz you can tell the cuts of meat used are fucking tiny and it's obvious they're using an Asian cooking pan. It's also annoying you can only cook three things, but I guess that makes it easier for me to choose not to use the mechanic. It's really bad when you compare it to other Capcom games like the Meowscular Chef sequences in Monster Hunter World (which has a similar buffing mechanic). It just seems extremely lazy, tbh. Like it was someone's retarded idea they forced into the game because they thought it looked cool, but they didn't have enough time to find setting-appropriate fish or other cuts of meat and only managed to make 3 videos.

Just nit-picking. Don't mind me, I'm having fun with the game, but usually I like cooking sequences in games... just not when they look like a random fucking YouTube video. Lmao.

I'm enjoying it a lot. The combat is more refined and challenging than the old game, and the world is much more complex. Performance isn't amazing, but I really don't understand why everybody is saying it's a CPU problem. I have a 12700K and a 2080Ti, and when performance drops, it's because the GPU is at 100%. 12700K is 5ghz locked on all cores, 4.7ghz ring clock, E-cores off, Hynix A-Die DDR5 7466 with lazy auto subtimings. No thread exceeds 70% usage with a 60fps cap.
Whats interesting about the city's is that the 60 FPS doesn't feel like it. Input lag gets noticeably worse, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with frame latency. Goes from 1-2 ms in the open world to 7-8.
1% lows in the city stay between 30-50FPS for me consistently with constant stutters on the frametime graph. I think it might be an asset streaming issue? I have a Samsung 980 Pro. I'm thinking about testing it with an Optane 905P that I have.

I like that the town gathered around and is gawking at my kill.

I found one in a cave but it was one tough fight.
Maybe because I was low level and equipped with sticks and rags, but I had to rest 3 times and come back and chip away at it's health.
Got the fucker in the end.

Also, this game with HDR is really nice. The nights and the camp fires are incredibly cozy, that is until a Dullahan comes for your ass. Only fight I noped out of it so far.

I find it hard to believe sometimes that, despite everything this god-forsaken industry has shown us, you all still got excited when you say your favorite game getting a sequel because "Capcom can't do wrong with this! They know their fans." No, they only know their shareholders and what they have brought into this hell-forsaken company.
