ARISEN THERE IS A FUCKINUUUH LADDER OVER THERE YOU MUST CLIMB IT IMMEDIATELY

It's funny that after people complaining about pawns constantly babbling and adding the option to reduce chatter in DD1, they stubbornly refused to add the same option in a sequel.
*Pawn with X-ray vision looking through walls, foliage, rocks*
WOW. A CHEST. TOO BAD IT'S SO FUCKIN FAR AWAY.

Why does it feel like people are just upset about this now? Or am I just following the game too closely?
It's absolutely part of the whiplash. Just a few weeks ago, I said I wasn't getting Helldivers 2 because of things like micro transactions and always online even for single player, and was all but told to stfu and let people enjoy things. Then we have this game, similar situation, but now the response is the opposite.

I'm sure it's mostly about piracy, but the Japanese also have this weird thing about seething over the idea that somebody somewhere might be using their software in a way they haven't explicitly authorized. Even if it affects nobody else and even if that inflexibility costs them sales, you do it their way or you don't play at all.

I don't know if it's a cultural value thing of a collectivist society or what.
Capcom has been adding DRM even to old games recently what someone at a fighting game tournament decided to use naked Chun Li mod. This pissed off Capcom and they have since been anti-mod.

I always feel like when games come out these days, I have my experience of playing it, and then the next day when I check the Internet and see that the entire thing is burning down, there's everyone else's experience.

Its very strange.
I tend to have the same, but opposite experience. Lethal Company being the most recent example. People hyping that game as amazing fun, but I've yet to play it because it needed a dozen mods just to be functional. Then everybody stopped playing it so it's sitting in my library with only a few minutes of play time.

While older games, I've seen the same with 7 Days to Die, Terraria, and Rimworld. Ultimate 20/10 games that I find to be just kind of sort of okay ish.

Thanks for the Tip buddy!

Tally Ho!

I'm surprised people were surprised this was going to be shit tbh. It's fucking crapcom.
The only reason I bought this shit is to have some finallity to the last holdover game I liked. Now megaman's dead, rezzie evil's dead, street fighter's dead, monhun's dead. whatever other shitheap capcom had that I won't even bother to remember.

Only thing left for me might be Devil May Cry. And that's more like a dying gasp with the transfer from Donte to 5 to "Evolution of Combat.

Speaking of I'm gonna see if I can fuck their DLC's over. Like figuring out how to shit on the ur-dragon repeatedly in the first one (he drops literally every mtx item) so Dark Arisen doesn't have the mtx bullshit the OG had.
Or other more damaging shit shit. I don't like my trust being exploited, even if I expect it.
I can't agree with Megaman, Street Fuckers, or Monster Hunter being "dead," but can you tell me why you think that? Otherwise, I mean you can easily shit on the Ur-Dragon, there's plenty of people who already do that so you can look up how to yourself. And I doubt they give a fuck about DDDA anymore so have fun with impunity, People have shown to hack and one-shot the Online Ur-Dragon so again, impunity because Crapcom gives no fucks.
Also, Metal Gear Survive has more sane microtransaction options than this game does. Try to get your heads around that.
Fuck me, really? I remember people shitting themselves about it too. I guess because it's the whole Kojima debacle (this was the game right after he was fired) so it left an incredibly sour taste in people's mouth. Plus the game was online so having P2W MTW on top of fucking with the popular series Metal Gear with its rabid fandom...yeah I don't expect as much outrage.
Counterpoint, people should spend time criticizing something logical instead of something utterly baffling like not having immediate access to a feature already in the game.
Not really a counter point, but I can agree with that, how's the actual game aside from these issues, if people can even play the fucking game without top tier hardware.

I'm pretty sure the reason FPS is so bad in towns is because most of the little items have physics attached. Its nice if you want to cast big spells and see shit go flying, but I guarantee having every candle and barrel you walk into explode isnt doing the framerate any favors
You sure you ain't playing a Bethesda game?
What is the name of the level of hatred past "I would kill them all by slowly flaying each one and feeding them their own necrotic flesh until they die from eating their own necrotic flesh"
"I will go back in time and stomp on every fucking creature that comes onto land for the first time just to have the chance to deny your entire existence, even if it means my own and the human race's"
EDIT: Also earning gold is piss-easy so far in DD2. If you think 10k-25k gold is too hard to come by, you're playing the game wrong.
Makes the microtransactions even more baffling. The gold is easy to get, but apparently those items that you can get from MTX that can be bought and/or found are rare and few in number.
Kingdoms of the Dump or Death Trash
Funny how those two games revolving around trash aren't...well, trash.

People are so fucking stupid. If you listened to the retards pedaling this game (ie Asmongold) up to it's release then you are brain dead and there is no hope for you. Dragon's Dogma 1 had mediocre combat that seems cool on the surface until you get more than a handful of hours into the game and realize that the damage calculations are fucked and the combat is puddle deep, and the story is fucking so stupid.

Y'all realize you become the dragon right? Huh I wonder how 2's story will play out.

I've been certain since this game's announcement that they'd pull the same shit. The combat would look like Shadow of the Colossus again and then they'd pull the rug out from under you once you had paid for the full game.

"AAA gaming is dead" have you considered not giving money to retarded corporations in the first place? Gamers will go on and on about how you shouldn't preorder games and then do it again as soon as they see a game that seems appealing. It's seriously Chris Chan tier gullibility.

I have no sympathy for the people who bought this game. It's fucking hilarious. Consumers of AAA games are as dumb as Marvel fans. They are literally lolcows.

Right, so here's that list I mentioned from what I skimmed from the thread
Huge performance issues, latest tech struggles to run it at 20+ to 30+ frames in even low populated areas, let alone cities, someone is getting 14 FPS using a 3060TI, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x

One user "Thefrogsaregay" is getting below 60 fps on a 4070TI, Ryzen 5800x, 64 GB ram, medium-low settings, DLSS on max performance.

One user "PuffyGroundCloud" however is getting 48-55 fps on a 3060TI, i7-11700F with textures set to high, with raytracing, other settings unknow

One user "Estate" is running at a constant 60 fps on a 3080 Ti, i9 12900k, 32 Gb ram, and a 3440x1440 monitor, 50 fps in town,

It would seem that users with AMD CPUs can't run the game nearly as well as Intel CPU users

Some PS5 users are struggling in areas as game lags

Others are crashing on startup

Denuvo, infamous for causing performance issues, locking people out of their game (you'll own nothing and be happy), prevents modding, etc.

Enigma, another already infamous DRM made by a single Snow Norwegian (Russian) who is incredibly anti-modification, equating mods with cheats and deleting threads/banning users from their forums that argue, usually after mocking them

Denuvo locking people out, one person just wanted to make a guide on how to run the game best on Linux and Steamdeck

Odd censorship, only one I found out was the underwear, I think there's still Sphinx titties

Janky

Anti-grind microtransactions in a single player game such as Rift Crystals (like DMC 5's orbs), "essential items" such as portcystals and wakestones meaning and even the ability to change your fucking character...once (reminds me of Monster Hunter World)

Prices range from $0.99 to $2.99, with $40 worth of DLC game is already $70 minimum, some DLC look like one time purchases as well. Most likely why they even added Enigma on top of Denuvo, like Helldiver 2's Nprotect GameGuard, to prevent circumvention of microtransations and nothing else

Empty open world game, what else is new?

(Potential) Lack of enemy variety

Can't delete save for any reason, one save slot on top of that. Well, you technically "can", but you can't. Save is server-sided, you have to delete your save manually in your userdata folder (on PC) and launch it offline or else it'll just redownload the save (be easier to block the game via your firewall, good luck on PS5) Some folks in the thread mentioned it's a problem with Cloud Saves, delete your save manually and don't forget to turn of cloud saving

Someone got soft-locked on the main quest as someone in the thread mentioned:
I completed a quest-step, watched cutscene and even got a reward, but Quest-Log didn’t update. Based on cutscene there’s definitely more to quest, but it’s still telling me to go talk to someone (and receive item) that I already have done.

Completing another quest didn’t fix it, resting didn’t fix it (I shouldn’t have fucking done this, since now I can’t even revert to Inn Save), trying to trigger cutscene again didn’t work, he’s not there.

This is a main quest, I still have other stuff to do, so I dunno how bad this is, but I’m pretty sure main quests usually have to be finished. And I can’t.

Key bindings are apparently cancer, but only one person mentioned it unless I'm fucking blind

Popular boring, monotoned, Shilltuber Cr1TiKaL quit the game in two streams (30 minutes of actual playtime?) due to constant crashing

Steam reviews getting clown award bombed by bots?

This is all without even talking about the game part of the game...
No wonder corpos and journos were pissed when Baldur's Gate 3 came out in a much better state, "setting the standard" in the process. Don't even like the fucking game compared to the older games and I'm going to have to recommend BG3 anyday to this piece of shit. Will update with new information as the thread continues. Also, if people who bought the game were to post their specs so we can see if there's a consistant issue with the fps on certain hardware, that would be great. If Capcom mostly fixes the performance issues they barely have to do anything else. Would like to know more about how the game actually plays though from more than...what, 2-4 people?

Uh, those framerates are FINE and modern gamers just have unrealistic standards. 20 FPS is silky smooth to my eyes.

There, I said it before the Kiwi Farms Dragon's Dogma Defense Force pounces.

okay so tried running it for an hour on my rig via family share
game runs decently on mine, suprising but convinced that wether this port runs well depends on the games of the moon
gameplay is fun, more fluid combat than DDDA again might pick it up if it gets patches and when the price drops

It's Japslop for people who want to masturbate to cat-girls and follow convoluted narratives that lack cohesion and common sense, always ending with "And with the power of friendship and love, we can win." It's all shit, all of it.
My brother in Christ this isn't your average Japshit

The biggest thing that perplexes me about NMS is all the people who keep telling me "they improved it a little! TOTAL REDEMPTION ARC!" ...people genuinely love that game now for some reason.
Because they didn't just "improved it a little", they actually pulled through to turn their unfinished mess into a decent game. Internet Historian did a good video on it, Hello Games got too ambitious, Sony forced them to have a strict deadline, they overpromised and underdelivered, and after all the hate and death threats stopped they got to work to get it up to a better shape.
I am corrected... I consneed.
To clear things up, there's Denuvo Anti-Tamper and Denuvo Anti-Cheat. The latter came around later, and the former is the evil DRM that everyone despises as they should. Both solutions have the name "Denuvo" and are developed by the same Austrian company Irdeto, but they are inherently different in what task they accomplish.

Denuvo Anti-Cheat is still evil because it's yet another ring zero anticheat, meaning you're effectively installing serious malware on your PC that has access to absolutely everything on it just to try and stop cheaters from cheating, which they still succeed in anyway, but the moment there might be a vulnerability in the anti cheat system, you and everyone who had it installed on their PC's are proper fucked.

Considering that’s more or less my setup, it looks like I’m holding off and hoping they patch the shit out of the game.

Even before that they had internal presentations talking about the evils of modding. Really they just don't like that it has the possibility of cutting into DLC sales and generating controversy like nude/meme mods. They did seem to have a unique contract with the model they scanned for Ashley's likeness in the remake as they were DMCAing Ashely nude mods but not any of the nude mods from other Resident Evil remakes titles, so that could also be some of their motivation. The fact that there are people that use the models to make porn probably doesn't help, particularly when you have characters like Sherry.

Survive is interesting, I could probably derail the thread going on about it but the core issue was that it was actually two different pitches Kojima made glued together and it just didn't make sense, they were trying to make an asset flip of Phantom Pain less obviously an asset flip by throwing in new "zombies" that just have nothing to do with Metal Gear Solid.

Its monetization was very cancerous. You had one save slot like DD2 but Konami graciously allows you to have another one for $10* which is more than DD2 can say! And like Phantom Pain, it had mobile game type timegated mechanics that you could speed up by spending Konami Koins. Basically wasting your time on purpose to drive monetization but as a survival game you're talking about resources you need to go back out into the open world, so literally your ability to progress the game can be held hostage by monetization.

*The save slots cost 1000 Konami Koins but you can only buy them in increments, the lowest amount you can buy and still afford the slot is 1150 Konami Koins which cost $9.99

This is the first time I've seen a game require 8 GB VRAM minimum for 1080p. When devs brought up the high CPU usage related to NPCs it seemed like a misdirection, implying as if it's the only issue with performance. Does this not look ridiculous?
