I mean, there were black people in the first game, and you could make a black character easily.

There were barely any black people in the first game from what I remember, most of the npc's in the game were white and it accurately (for the most part) reflected the medieval Europe-inspired setting the game was based on.

There were barely any black people in the first game from what I remember, most of the npc's in the game were white and it accurately (for the most part) reflected the medieval Europe-inspired setting the game was based on.

I was mainly talking about named NPCs, of which there were at least two major black ones. As for unnamed NPCs, at least one of the locations for this game appears to be a desert setting, which would justify darker skinned characters.

There are gonna be soooooooooooooooooooooo mannnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyy elf pawns in DD2. From your short mage elf (Frieren) to your tall, thin archer (High Elf Archer) to everything in-between.

Luckily the furries are ugly in this game so that might keep the contamination to min.

I actually believe it will be. It would be too glaring an omission from an otherwise deep character creator.

My party wasn't when I played at TGS so I'm hoping that the diversity is only from pawns you make like the first game. I made a black one and named it after HP Lovecraft's cat.

I loved the first game so much that i dont mind shelling out for the deluxe edition or whatever. I want to support this franchise.

Mason from the first game came acrossed as some foreign "African" spy especially with his thick accent and how he called you a faggot if you didn't kill a white man for him. I don't mind him. I see all the NPCs in dragons dogma to be endearingly odd anyways.

I'm sure the pawn rift will be filled with underaged anime waifus and furries though. Glad I have friends so I can just use their pawns.

For all you people worried about boobies and a boob slider, I think it will be fine. This is seemingly a major character and she doesn't look esg friendly (correct me if I'm wrong)

That sounds more like the old meaning of "Diverse" to me, as in, a varied cast of archetypes with different personalities and goals, as opposed to "Inclusive"

Mercedes (Knockoff Casca) wasn't black, she just had a darker complexion. If anything she looked maybe Mediterranean or Southern Italian, even tho she had a French accent.

Considering the whole area of the game had a Mediterranean vibe to it I always considered any of the black people in the game either really dark skin Southern Italians or Moors.
