Capcom's track record has been good recently, I don't really see a reason to worry.
Yeah I think it’ll be fine. Capcom has had very few L’s in the last 5 years. RE7, RE2R, RE8, DMC5, MH: World, and MH: Rise all released in this timeframe and were well received.

L’s: RE3R and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.

New trailer dropped.
Capcom's not been doing too good lately, so I should be skeptical, but what little I can make out here looks like it'll be Dark Arisen 1.5, and I'm all for that.

Some one pointed that they are using some of the monsters from Dragons Dogma Online (the Gordon and Sphinx) which is GREAT since I would love the game to have a more Mediterranean / Greek legends feel instead of generic European fantasy.

I think it's really funny so many people are shitting on for essentially being exactly like Dark Arisin but with better graphics.

Uh yea dude that's a good thing and exactly what I and every other DD fan wanted.

Do you want this to be a modern AAA game? I fucking don't.

I honestly think it going to be "remake" of the first game except they add all of the cut content into it. I wouldn't even be that against it.
Hopefully the ending's better this time around too. Or I should say I hope they have an ending for me. It wasn't a bad ending, I just felt disappointed at the result.

Don't you know? Direct Sequels are supposed to be completely different genres and styles in modern gaming journalist/retard reality.

We'll have to see the final product but I was very pleasantly surprised by the trailer. It looks extremely faithful to the original and all the female characters shown are conventionally attractive with no afro sporting obese black women or Abby Armstrongs.

Very very encouraging.

I was shocked to see them show actual snippets of gameplay. Most devs are too embarassed to show off new games since most of them are dog shit movie games. Seems like Capcom actually wants the original Dragons' Dogma fans back. I still don't trust those shifty bastards but I'll pirate it on release to try it.

hey, we had a Dragon's Dogma thread? awesome! i remember picking up the game at random for the ps3 years ago for like 20 bucks. one of the best 20 spent. even bought it again off steam and have around 200 hours on it. even got all the achievements for the hell of it.

yeah, i want two to be just as one but more. more monsters, more areas to explore, more gear, skills classes etc. already im thinking of how i want to tackle the game or what kind of Arisan i want to make. im excited.

This is one of those games where i didnt mind the uglification in cause the character models in the original are ugly as hell, if it wasnt an important character or a player created one, it looked like a fucking mutant. The new models look so much more polished, cant wait to mess around with character creator

While i wouldnt mind a re-imagining of DD1, what i want is to explore other lands and stories, my biggest wish for this game is to be able to explore the moon like it was originally intended for the first game, but honestly, ill be fine if we dont get it. Just so glad we even get a sequel in the first place

All I want is for this to not suck. I don't ask for much anymore, but please, modern video games, just this once - please don't let DD2 suck.

Really the only improvements I'd want over the original are:
  • Quick use item menu, so I don't need to pause the game to use consumables
  • Some vocation re-balancing, like giving warrior some more mobility or shorter charge up on stuff like AoD
  • More linear difficulty pacing; the end of the base game was a cakewalk, but they had got it right with BBI, so I think we can expect something close to that.
I look forward to seeing the improvements to the pawn AI, as I have a feeling they were testing it out with the Monhun sunbreak AI companions, and they're pretty competent for the most part.

I was on the hype train for this game back when I first saw it in fucking game informer magazine. I pre-ordered the shit soon as I could. Played through it countless times using every vocation and every possible leveling progression you can think of. I was extremely active in various pawn guilds. I bought all the dlc shit separately, bought DA and then bought it again for the ps4. Hell I was even one of those faggots who always insisted people should try it out and stick with it in spite of the flaws because "It gets better bro, trust me. Once you get mixed vocations it's so much fun".

That said, this is maybe the best example of "its not the subject, it's the fanbase". Good Lord did this game cultivate one of the most obnoxious, shut in, try hard, faggot fanbases I've ever seen. This game is very fun, for what it is. Which is eessentially a dungeon crawl/boss rush. But if you look at the majority of the fanbase, you'd think this is the most perfect open world ARPG that's ever existed.

So many retards acting like this game was the pinnacle of combat, story and exploration which is just fucking laughable. Especially when you take a little time to actually look at how these types of people play the game. Always some cringey as fuck loli waifu Arisen/Pawn, probably with a harem team. Min maxed to fuck so there's no fun or strat involved. And they only run through BBI on repeat, over and over and over again. Granted this shit was mostly seen when I was on reddit, but still.

I'm very excited for the next installment. Hopefully they actually take the time to focus on giving us a world worth exploring this time and flesh out/properly balance the vocations. Because with DD1, it was far too easy to just default to playing one of the bow classes or Sorc and just wrecking everything in a couple seconds. And hopefully they avoid any sort of multi-player, which is me being optimistic.

Back when i was active in the Pawn Guilds, i used to have people constantly ask me how to make their pawn more hirable/how to keep them hired for longer. And the solution was so simple that these reddit fags couldn't wrap their heads around it. Instead of trying to create the ultimate waifu, min maxed death incarnate with gold tier BBI LVL3 everything, or your super original le epic funny monstrosity; you'll get better results if you try to make an actual character. Make them look like they could be apart of the game. Give them a theme. Take the time to give them a good fashion, because a pawn that looks good will always stand out in the rift more than yet another hyper optimized hellfire armored shrek or a queens clothes loli. Because the people who want that shit will just do it themselves using alt accounts. Following these extremely simple guidelines has made it so every single time I rest I'm getting no less 300-500k RC and at least 4 stars across the board on real ratings. More often than not I'm raking in 1Mil or more with 5 stars across the board. Turns out, being even slightly original gets you more results than following some youtube faggots min max guide.

This so much. Also remove item weight limits. They were stupid. There is a reason one of the most popular mods for the game gets rid of the weight limitations.

Honestly, some vocations just need to be combined. Warrior, fighter and assassin should just be combined into one vocation, a single well-rounded melee class that has the heaviest armor, and has the option of going sword and board, big two-hander, or fast, long range DPS machine. Would be a far more viable class than either of those classes were alone (except assassin).

Mage should be eliminated for a Cleric class that does more than just heal or cast debuffs, so it isn't relegated to just being a heal bot class that no player will ever use. Maybe combine it with the Mystic Knight class and rename it to the Paladin.

Sorcerer is fine on its own.

The Magick Archer and Mystic knight classes are cool. Its just that you need to actively invest in both magic and strength to use them effectively, which is somewhat limiting.

Y'know that's one more thing I wouldn't mind: manual stat allocation. Not a fan of class-based growth rates. Passive attribute/behavior modification for pawns is fine by me since it keeps the training aspect intact. But for the PC, just let me optimize the character while playing the vocation I enjoy.
