Charlie just quit his stream of the game after playing for only 30 minutes and crashing about 5 times.

As much as I want to play, I'm holding off a purchase.

Very disheartening, adored the first game.
I'm surprised people were surprised this was going to be shit tbh. It's fucking crapcom.
The only reason I bought this shit is to have some finallity to the last holdover game I liked. Now megaman's dead, rezzie evil's dead, street fighter's dead, monhun's dead. whatever other shitheap capcom had that I won't even bother to remember.

Only thing left for me might be Devil May Cry. And that's more like a dying gasp with the transfer from Donte to 5 to "Evolution of Combat.

Speaking of I'm gonna see if I can fuck their DLC's over. Like figuring out how to shit on the ur-dragon repeatedly in the first one (he drops literally every mtx item) so Dark Arisen doesn't have the mtx bullshit the OG had.
Or other more damaging shit shit. I don't like my trust being exploited, even if I expect it.

No wonder Mega Man, Dino Crisis, Lost Planet and other classic Capcom titles are dead, they're still figuring out a way to ensure as many people as possible spend $70+ on microtransaction-laden bullshit.

I'm glad I didn't get it on release like I originally wanted to, as soon as I saw le epik e-celebs getting their own official pawns I knew I had to be cautious but I never imagined it would end up so bad.

In case this is of interest or provides help to anyone, here are my settings. My PC setup and experience, I posted earlier.

Feel free to give tips, as I'm open to fiddling around to get the best experience.

Yes, you get one character, and if you want to change how they look, it cost $1.99.
How the fucking hell is that acceptable?!
Part of me hopes Capcom gets away with this just to see what they'll do with the next release of Street Fighter.

You get one character, combos cost a dollar, and you have to pay by the match. Guaranteed there would be riots.

Ten or so years ago I would have shit, piss, thrown up, and blew ropes at the announcement of DD2. I kinda felt bad about missing out on the sequel to one of my favorite games. I really should stop forgetting triple A to games are dead. Miss me with that gay shit, Capcom.

Keep in mind this came after the game released.

These niggas waited for y’all to pay full price and then fuck you over.

Kill all triple a developers and games journalists.

I really dont get how Capcom operates, so they make a fun DMC5 game, they release good remakes of the RE games aaand then they pull this shit. Is it because Dragon Dogma 1 wasnt much of a banger? Like, I don get this almost schizo mentality they're having.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but you did know DMC5 and all the REmakes (except maybe 2?) had microtransactions just like this, right? Dragons Dogma 1 also had stuff like this in its initial release for ps3 and 360. The only difference I see is no option on dd2 to start a new game. I'm not buying so maybe I'm wrong. In DD1 you could easily disable cloud saves and backup your characters, but otherwise on console you only had 1 character per profile.

It is effortless to implement and as you can see in the screenshot in the OP people will buy the game and this DLC and complain about it. It -is- bullshit I agree. I just can't help but be amused that the example screenshot to show dlc prices also shows that several were purchased.

If you don't like it don't buy it. Simple as. They will continue to do low effort 'DLC' like this because its so very easy to do. It is literally all just stuff you can get in game with little trouble. Remaking your character in NG+ or using rift crystals to buy an appearance respec will take a bit though, likely. I'm not playing DD2 so I'm not sure if those are in the game, I'm only assuming because it was in 1 and this looks like the same game.

Nothing in the DLC is something you have to buy to play the game, Everything listed exists in the base game already that you can get without having to pay extra or anything like that.

It’s still really fucking stupid to have it there to basically squeeze money out of people who are having problems playing the game, but there you go.

man ignores all the red flags and gets mildly inconvenienced. this is a happening apparently

I'm just going to say it: Original Dragon's Dogma was always overrated trash. It's little wonder that Crapcom pulled all out and made this game a microtransaction heaven since they knew you would buy it, anyways. They were right, this will blow over and make them a ton of cash.
I have no clue what anyone here was expecting, they fucked up RE4 so what chance did they have with a sequel to a beloved game that released like a decade ago? Did anybody forget how many times they tried to turn Resident Evil of all games into an online shooter so they could shill microtransactions? |

So, how woke is this game? We all know Crapcom sold out a long time ago, there is no way they didn't poz it up on top of that.

One save file? I remember MGS Survive getting shit for this. MGS5 did it too but no one really talked about it, and you couldn't even buy another like Survive.
At least in those games it wasn't that bad since you could select whatever missions you wanted and play the game in that order again. It's stupid you couldn't go back to being a level 1 character without any progression, but it's better than nothing I guess.
Also, Metal Gear Survive has more sane microtransaction options than this game does. Try to get your heads around that. Bullying cr*pcom fanboys is going to be fun over the next coming weeks.

Say it with me, ladies and gents:

This.
Is why.
You NEVER.
Preorder.

They can't fuck you with a bait and switch like this if you haven't paid up in advance. Yet people keep sticking their dick in the angle grinder and then wonder why their crotch is bleeding.

I mean, technically they tried it once with RE with that Umbrella game, I know there was also the co-op one made by the SOCOM guys, but I dont recall that one having microtransactions. An yes, there was that DbD knock off they made, but that wasnt really an online shooter.
