I thought it was no longer possible, or am I mixing games up?

Also, they gave it a bishie form in Super Light...what for? Did anybody want to fuck the clock?
Wi-Fi monsters are unavailable, so I am missing out on Watabou, Numen, and the Schleimian Tank

Rigor Mortex is impossible with one cartridge because it requires two Captain Crows, but I had two. The process is extremely tedious, a lot of monsters I would duplicate using tag mode so I didn't lose them (Including Leonyx, Zenith Dragon, and Wildcard), and RM is kind of a mediocre monster, but I tend to be very completionist with DQ games. Finally got it done today.

I could try to get Ace of Spades but saying I'm burnt out on J2 is an understatement. I am going to finish the post game content for Builders 2

We're probably getting another Builders game since Minecraft is very popular in Japan and the rest of Asia.
I want Builders 3 to follow Erdrick's father. I think it'd be cool for a Builders to go prequel route as opposed to the first two being sequel.

Also, I've recently started getting into DQ as I've always been curious of the Enix side of what became of my beloved Squaresoft. DQI was fun. Gonna start II.

If I remember right the team who made Builders 1&2 are working on another project or don't want to make another or something.

I is a classic, but II is the black sheep of the series. Suffers the same pitfalls as games like Zelda II, Final Fantasy II, Mario 2 (Japan), and Castlevania 2 where it is pretty experimental and the difficulty curve is horrendous. I never noticed how bad the difficulty was because it was my first DQ game (On NES). Once you get to III, things will get really good though. Best version for III until the remake comes out is probably a SNES or GBC rom because the mobile versions are pretty dogshit.

I'm doing the I+II Super Famicom version. I got a new translation patch and bug fix for it. I heard the remake tweaked a bit of the problems.

I+II was my second DQ game ever. I actually have a physical copy too which is nice. The bug fix is good. Maybe Zsnes was just outdated, but speeding up the game for too long fucked up the music and you could duplicate one of your companions from a sidequest.

Check it out, seems to fix a whole heap of things.

I've played over the past 2-3 months Dragon Quest Monsters 3DS games. They are imports and I don't know Japanese but I have got sufficiently far in all three. Here are my opinions so far:

Monsters 1 Remake: Underwhelming, random map generation is more stale, the atmosphere and imagination of the GBC versions aren't there. More monsters, but a lot are blocked off by very RNG reliant egg system actually letting you get them. Top monster in the game is also very underwhelming. Lastly most skillsets were nerfed and have crippling maluses on them which make them not worth using.

Monsters 2 Remake: Spectacular, key system is eh but the content is massive and not as punishing or RNG reliant as TW with Eggs. Going online just a bit every day should be enough to eventually net you the strongest monster in the game, who is as wicked gameplay-wise as he looks. More memorable postgame too. There is a smartphone version you can get which adds 100 more monsters and is basically the definitive Dragon Quest Monsters Experience. Combine 2 3DS coming out when one of the weakest Pokemon Games (XY, though I have to admit I quite love XY I can't ignore all of its problems) installments releasing, and it just looks even better.

Joker 3 (Professional): Many changes to breeding, monster appearances, and mechanics. A lot of quality of life things are done like removing gender (Which felt vestigial by the point of M2 3D), automatic phoenix staff option, and super synthesis being very cool (You can customize the traits of a monster) but the plot is kind of a mess, graphics are a downgrade, breeding trees are nonsensical and convoluted. Overall mixed. I went as far as I could on M1 and M2 but I am finding more fun playing Pokemon Emerald and losing attention to J3P if that is a sign.

There is an English fan translation of Joker 3 Professional. If you wanna play it in English. I tried it out and it was pretty decent.

Any word on DQ Flames of Fate yet at not-E3?

It will be using unreal engine and the people who worked on Wind Waker HD and DQXI S will be helping on it. There will be many games that come out between now and XII, including treasures and III remake (Personally I think just due to how long it's been they will be announcing an IX remake soon). I doubt it will be on Switch. I assume XII will be coming out around 2024ish and XI S already pushed the console to its limits so I predict it will come out on PC and PS5 and a few months later on whatever succeeds the Switch (Or maybe it will be a launch title)

Dragon Quest X Offline also launches in September in Japan. At least if it doesn't come to the west it's dropping on Stream so someone will make an English patch and we'll finally get to easily play it.

Looking forward to Treasures. I assume it's the new "Dragon Quest Monsters" they teased with DQ XI characters. Still need to finish XI and Builders 2 on my Switch, but I will probably jump in on Treasures when it releases.

My issue with it is that I last read about some fuckery with the expansions and they're possibly coming on a voucher rather than the disc supposedly.

I was really hoping for a complete collection because I had this shit pre-ordered back when it was announced.

Started playing DQ11 S because I was getting a bit burnt out with Elden Ring, and this game is fantastic (so far). I especially like how you can see the monsters on the map now, so you can fight them when you want to grind, and run past them when you don't feel like fighting.

I've played it for about 8 hours now, and another thing I'm happy about is how they incentivize you to use the crafting mechanic by making the gear you create better than the ones you buy. Better than the gear a step up, even, if you're lucky during the crafting process.

One thing I dislike, on the other hand, is how lazy of a port it is. They didn't even change the fucking button prompts for keyboard and mouse, for fuck's sake. You have to download a fucking mod for that. I also wish there was a completed retranslation mod for it. I much prefer the Japanese voice acting (some of the English voice acting is fine, but other parts are really grating), but I'm just familiar enough with Japanese that the disconnect between what the voice acting and the text boxes bugs me.

Edit: Oh, and I like how all of the Hotto natives speak in haikus. That's pretty neat.
