The guy was a bit of a pain to work with and a copyright troll and talk/trivia of this this lead to what I like to call a "skinwalker/pod people moment" where Out of nowhere after I find out about this I'm like "hey this guy died that sucks" they go "GOOD RIDDANCE I LIKED HIS MUSIC BUT I HATE HIM HE WAS AN ASSHOLE AND BIGOT ANYWAYS". This is happening with friends that previously didn't do this kinda shit even and I'm fucking concerned this is gonna send them down the same dark path countless hyperpolitical hordes have travelled.

RIP 90 year old butt trumpet MIDI music wizard man, You were an ass but you made me laugh in a good way, not in the "HAHA bad man DEAD" way some people I know seem to be right now.

It feels like I've entered another fucking reality watching literally everyone who'd otherwise be sensible suddenly get extremely pissed and hostile over me getting slightly bummed over a guy none of us know personally dying because of him being an old jerk with questionable political views. The fact he was the games' composer for so long tells me there was a lot more to him than just "OLD MAN WHO IS BAD!!!" or they'd have probably dumped him and hired another composer a long time ago.

It's because he is a huge deal. He isn't just a video game composer, he composed for TV shows and commercials. He's practically musical royalty.

If he was a 90 year old Japanese guy, and he wasn't a bigot, I'd think he had dementia. Old asians are the poster people for "nasty biggotry in a language you probably don't understand".

I know that feel man. Everyone around me is turning out the same way and I keep wondering why I haven't. Sure, this guy has some pretty abhorrent revisionist views but god damn can't some of us grieve or be upset over someone's death without some autistical faggoty screed about it? It's not like he was actually going around stomping in the skulls of queers or Koreans.
